Bill Kenwright has revealed Everton manager Roberto Martinez cannot wait to get started and has already identified two transfer targets.
Following the club's general meeting of shareholders on Wednesday, chairman Kenwright explained that Martinez is already targetting new signings despite not having met his new squad yet and talks have already taken place with two clubs about player availability.
Former Wigan manager Martinez, who replaced David Moyes at Everton, is currently away on holiday, but that has not stopped him making enquiries regarding players that he wants to bring to Goodison Park before the start of the new season.
"Roberto hasn't met the squad yet and it's difficult for me to talk for him," Kenwright said. "But, like me, he thinks they are fantastic, wants to keep hold of that group and wants to bring in two or three players in the positions we need them.
"He (Martinez) has been away and you will always find that 1 July onwards - because that's when the current contracts end - that's when it will start.
"We've got now, as we talk, two enquiries going on for two players. Roberto is back at the weekend and he's raring to go."
Kenwright also revealed that the club are still looking at possible sites for a new stadium, with a site close to Goodison Park being considered.
Everton's future was discussed at length during Wednesday's meeting and Kenwright explained in detail the current situation to the shareholders.
"We've had strenuous meetings with a very supportive (Liverpool Mayor) Joe Anderson and the council," hexplained to the audience. "Last time we spoke, I think there were six or seven sites - now there are two or three, and there's one that I would love. But again, it's down to the funding package.
"We've had a couple of meetings with Liverpool and the council but it (a ground share) is not moving forward at the moment.
"We have identified a site close to Goodison and we have a council at the moment who are extremely positive in their desire to help us. If we take forward what we're looking at now, I think you would be happier than sharing with the Reds."
