Chelsea have announced they have agreed transfer terms for Andre Schurrle with Bayer Leverkusen. The London club have been chasing the 22-year-old striker for months, but the breakthrough, subject to personal terms and a medical, signifies new manager Jose Mourinho's first signing since returning to the club. The Germany international moves to the Premier League for a fee reported to be around 18 million pounds. Schurrle netted 14 goals for Leverkusen in all competitions last season and his Chelsea switch was believed to have been delayed after his parent club requested Kevin De Bruyne as part of the talks, although no deal was able to be reached.

Anzhi Makhachkala midfielder Odil Ahmedov has suggested Premier League side Arsenal are interested in securing his services. The 25-year-old has reportedly attracted interest from a number of clubs throughout Europe, and helped his side to a third-placed finish in the league this season. And Ahmedov is confident he would be star for the London club. "It is true I have interest from Arsenal - their scouts have watched me in every match this season," Ahmedov told Izvestia. "If I move there, I could be a huge success but there is no bid yet."

Veteran Inter defender Walter Samuel has signed a new one-year contract at the Serie A club. The 35-year-old centre-back – who arrived at Inter in 2005 from Real Madrid - will extend his eight-year stay at the San Siro club with his fresh deal. The Argentine assured the club, and their fans, that he would repay them for their faith in him. "I'm very happy to have renewed my contract for another year," Samuel told the club's official website. "Along with my team-mates, I hope I can give Inter a positive year and repay the club for the faith they've shown, since they still believe in me."
