De Bruyne: I need to play to stay at Chelsea
Chelsea midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has insisted he needs to play regularly if he is to remain at the club next season.
The Belgian has been loaned out to Genk and Werder Bremen over the past two seasons and is now being linked with a temporary switch to Bayer Leverkusen, with Andre Schurrle potentially going the opposite way.
And, while De Bruyne is not ruling out a return to Stamford Bridge, he has underlined his need to play first-team football on a regular basis if he is to be in contention for Belgium's World Cup 2014 squad.
"The most important thing for me is to be playing games," he told Sky Sports. "I know that I will be stressed when I play a few games on the benc

Gomes keen for Spurs exit
Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes wants to leave Tottenham in an effort to play more regularly.
The Brazilian was forced out of the Spurs side in recent seasons by the arrivals of Brad Friedel and later Hugo Lloris before being loaned out to Bundesliga side Hoffenheim last term.
As well as playing regularly for the Sinsheim club, the former Brazil international also helped them stay in the top-flight, winning the relegation play-off against Kaiserslautern, and Gomes is keen to build on the experience of playing week in, week out.
"My spell in Germany was very good as I helped to save Hoffenheim from relegation to the second division," he told Globoesporte.

No agreement with Real, claims Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that he has not yet agreed a new contract with Real Madrid, though talks are currently ongoing.
The 28-year-old has scored 201 goals in 199 appearances for the Spanish club since joining them from Manchester United in 2009, but has been recently linked with a return to Old Trafford.
However, the club's president Florentino Perez earlier this week suggested that he hopes to make the attacker the highest-paid footballer in the world.
And, prior to featuring in Portugal's 1-0 win over Russia on Friday, Ronaldo has hinted that a deal which will see him stay in Madrid is currently in the offing.

Ramirez expects Southampton stay
Southampton forward Gaston Ramirez has stated his intention to remain at the club amid reported interest from Serie A side Fiorentina.
The Uruguayan joined the St Mary's outfit for a reported 12 million pounds from Bologna in August 2012, and scored five goals in his debut season in the Premier League.
A string of impressive performances over that period have seen him linked with a return to Italy, but he insists he wants to stay at Southampton.
"There is a lot of talk about the transfer market but I think I'll stay at Southampton," Ramirez told tuttomercatoweb.com.

Balotelli apologises for red card
Italy striker Mario Balotelli has apologised after being sent off during his side's 0-0 World Cup qualifying draw with the Czech Republic.
The Milan forward picked up two yellow cards in just four minutes in Friday's game, after a reckless challenge on Michal Kadlec was followed by an arm to Theodor Gebre Selassie's face.
The 22-year-old reacted badly to being dismissed, kicking and punching the walls of the tunnel on his way to the changing room.
But the striker has shown contrition for his actions on Saturday via his personal Twitter account.
"Yesterday my reaction wasn't right. I apologise. Sorry to my team.

Villarreal seal La Liga return
Villarreal have sealed an instant return to La Liga by securing a second-placed finish in the Segunda Division on Saturday.
The Madrigal outfit, who suffered the ignominy of relegation from the Spanish top-flight last term, confirmed automatic promotion from the second-tier by beating Almeria 1-0 at home.
Jonathan Pereira Rodriguez grabbed the all-important goal for the hosts, who could have been leapfrogged into the final promotion spot by their opponents had they suffered defeat on the final day of the season.
However, Almeria will now enter the play-offs along with Girona, Alcorcon and Las Palmas.

Gourcuff open to Lyon exit
Yoann Gourcuff has refused to rule out the possibility of leaving Ligue 1 side Lyon amid reported interest from Arsenal.
The France international has struggled to capture his best form for the club since completing a big-money transfer from Bordeaux in 2010.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on a loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer, and the 26-year-old has admitted he is open to the idea.
"If clubs are interested and interesting, I don't close the door on anything at all," Gourcuff said in Ouest France.
"The most important thing is to play, but I have to look at the sporting project, whether they count on me, the means that we're giv

Celta Vigo appoint Luis Enrique
Celta Vigo have announced the appointment of Luis Enrique as their new manager on a two-year deal on Saturday.
The former Spain international began his managerial career with Barcelona B before leaving Catalunya to take charge of Serie A outfit Roma.
However, the 43-year-old's stay in the Italian capital was ended after a single disappointing campaign, and he will hope to rebuild his reputation with a Celta side which narrowly avoided La Liga relegation last season.
"Luis Enrique is the new coach of Celta Vigo after an agreement was reached between the club and coach for the next seasons," a statement on the club's official website read.

Phil Neville announces retirement
Former Manchester United and Everton utility man Phil Neville has announced his retirement from professional football.
The 36-year-old had already signalled his intent to leave Goodison Park following the conclusion of the 2012-13 Premier League campaign, but had refused to specify his next move.
However, Neville has now confirmed that he will not resume his playing career after coaching England's youngsters at the Under-21 European Championships in Israel.
"I was speaking to Robbie Fowler about this the other week and he hasn't officially retired," he said. "Three weeks ago, everyone in the world seemed to be retiring. I thought 'I'm not jumping on this bandwagon'.

Casillas desperate to play, says Del Bosque
Vicente del Bosque has claimed Iker Casillas is "desperate" to feature in Spain's FIFA confederations Cup campaign after a frustrating season.
The Real Madrid shot-stopper found himself marginalised by Jose Mourinho at the Bernabeu last term, with Diego Lopez signed from Sevilla in January and then preferred over the Spain skipper after he recovered from a broken hand.
The 32-year-old has not played a competitive fixture since January 20 and is itching to get back on the field after watching Victor Valdes impress between the sticks in Spain's FIFA World Cup qualifying clash with France in March.
"Casillas is desperate to play, we have seen him as he always is," Del Bosque said.
