Kolarov could leave Manchester City
premier league
Aleksandar Kolarov will seek a move away from Manchester City if new manager Manuel Pellegrini cannot guarantee him first-team football.
The Serbian defender was never a regular during Roberto Mancini's tenure, but is hopeful that under Pellegrini he will be able to move ahead of Gael Clichy in the battle for the left-back slot.
Since his arrival from Lazio in 2010, Kolarov has made 94 appearances for the club. Roughly a third of those, 33, came last season, but only 17 starts frustrated the 27-year-old.
With Clichy performing so consistently, Kolarov faces a fight to first-team recognition.
That desire to be playing regularly could see Kolarov leave and he is insistent that he is not just ... Read more »

Platini happy PSG chose Blanc
UEFA president Michel Platini has praised Paris Saint-Germain for appointing a French head coach with Laurent Blanc replacing Carlo Ancelotti. While PSG having reportedly chased the likes of Jose Mourinho, Arsene Wenger, Andre Villas-Boas and Michael Laudrup, the reigning Ligue 1 champions eventually installed Blanc as head coach on Tuesday, replacing Ancelotti, who has joined Real Madrid.
But Platini believes it is a good that the French league champions have a native coach and has backed Blanc, who has previously managed Bordeaux and France, to prove himself to PSG's impressive squad.
"It is a beautiful challenge for Laurent Blanc," Platini said on Wednesday.
"It's great that Paris-Saint-Germain chose a French coach, it's good.

Former Wigan manager Martinez, who replaced David Moyes at Everton, is currently away on holiday, but that has not stopped him making enquiries regarding players that he wants to bring to Goodison Park before the start of the new season.
"Roberto hasn't met the squad yet and it's difficult for me to talk for him," Kenwright said. "But, like me, he thinks they are fantastic, wants to keep hold o ... Read more »

la ligaAtletico Madrid are on the verge of signing Roma striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo, according to the player's agent.
The La Liga outfit are keen on bolstering their attacking options and see Osvaldo as the ideal solution.
The 27-year-old, who scored 17 goals in 31 appearances for Roma last term, is known in Spain after a two-season stint with Espanyol.
While Osvaldo has been in decent form on the pitch, he was dropped last month from the Italy squad for the FIFA Confederations Cup by manager Cesare Prandelli after he insulted Roma coach Aurelio Andreazzoli.
Osvaldo made the remarks both on the field during the Coppa Italia final loss to arch-rivals Lazio and on Twitter afterwards, and his agent – who confir ... Read more »
