FIFA World Cup Qualifying: Australia - Iraq
Brett Holman has claimed Australia's confidence is high heading into their critical FIFA World Cup qualifier against Iraq on Tuesday.
Australia will host Iraq at Sydney's ANZ Stadium in Group B of the AFC qualifying section knowing a win will ensure a third-consecutive appearance at the World Cup finals.
And midfielder Holman reckons stability in the starting line-up has seen the Socceroos find form at the vital point of their campaign to reach Brazil 2014.
Holger Osieck's team headed to Japan a fortnight ago knowing they would need at least six points from their three remaining matches to

Heynckes: I will not coach again
Jupp Heynckes has confirmed his retirement after insisting he will not coach another club following his departure from Bayern Munich.
The 68-year-old finishes his career on a high after a historic season with Bayern, in which they won a treble of the Bundesliga title, the UEFA Champions League and the DFB-Pokal.
"I'm somewhat against finality - but I can say it for sure, I will not a coach a team again. I've had a dignified exit from football," he told Der Spiegal.
Former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola will now take the reins at the Allianz Arena, and Heynckes believes the Spaniard is the right man for the job.

Aubameyang eyes Monaco move
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang favours a move to Monaco despite interest from the Premier League and the Bundesliga, according to his father.
Pierre Aubameyang, who acts as his son's agent, has admitted that the Saint-Etienne striker - who is rumoured to be wanted by clubs such as Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund - would find a transfer to the wealthy Ligue 1 club tough to turn down.
Monaco have already signed the likes of Radamel Falcao and Joao Moutinho ahead of the 2013-14 campaign and the 23-year-old Gabon striker would like to join them at the Stade Louis II.
"Much of the Germany talk is true, but proposals come from everywhere," Aubameyang senior told RTL.

Mourinho and Ferguson´s secret pact
Jose Mourinho knew about Alex Ferguson's retirement plans months ago and also shared his desire to return to Chelsea with the Scot.
The Portuguese manager disclosed details of the pair's close friendship which saw them keep each other's dramatic secrets while he discussed his second spell at Stamford Bridge with the Chelsea hierarchy.
"I knew that Ferguson was retiring many months ago and I was so happy to have his trust. It was big news for the world. I can imagine that just a very close circle around him knew that and it was a big responsibility for me to know that," Mourinho said.
"Why do I know that? Because we are friends. If I am his friend to know he is

MLS Wrap: Whitecaps take down Revolution
Vancouver Whitecaps have produced a late first-half blitz to overcome New England Revolution 4-3, who were devastated by a 23rd-minute red card.
New England jumped out to an early lead at Vancouver's BC Place Stadium through goals from Juan Agudelo and Kelyn Rowe in the opening 20 minutes but let the home side back into the game when central defender Andrew Farrell dragged the Whitecaps' Kenny Miller down in the penalty box.
Farrell was shown a straight red card and Camilo Sanvezzo converted the penalty, sparking a comeback from Vancouver, which put them 4-2 up when Miller scored in the 68th minute.
Despite a thumping strike from New England's Dimitry Imbongo Boele, the Whitecaps held on for victory to edge closer to the play

Mexico primed for cup campaign
Mexico head coach Jose Manuel de la Torre has argued his team are looking forward to letting off some steam and winning the Confederations Cup.
In CONCACAF's final round of qualifying for next year's World Cup final in Brazil, Mexico have started in uninspiring fashion with five draws and a win from six matches to sit third on the standings, two points adrift of leaders the USA.
While De la Torre concedes his side will have to be in top form to overcome the likes of Spain, Italy, Brazil and Uruguay at this month's Confederations Cup in Brazil, the 47-year-old Mexican coach maintains his team is aiming high.
De la Torre believes Mexico will benefit from a break from World Cup qualifying after consecutive goalless draws with Co

Scolari: Brazil ominously close to best
Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari says he has almost found his best starting XI after their 3-0 Confederations Cup victory over Japan.
A glorious goal from Neymar opened the scoring for the hosts, before Paulinho and substitute Jo netted in the second half to give Scolari's men a comfortable win.
Jo's introduction after being frozen out from the national set-up might win Scolari some additional favour with the fans, and after performing admirably under considerable pressure to succeed, things might just be falling into place for Brazil.
"My feeling is that we're finding the best lineup," Scolari told reporters.
"Little by little, with backup options that help
