Sunderland have moved on a couple of key signings ahead of the Premier League season, agreeing to a fee for Arsenal keeper Vito Mannone.

The Wearside club have also opened talks for Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone, who will reportedly cost the North-East club five million pounds.

But Mannone will definitely depart the Emirates - with Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski both ahead of him, and the club chasing the services of QPR's Julio Cesar - and will fill the absence left by the departing Simon Mignolet, who joined Liverpool recently.

Suarez wary of Italy threat
premier league
Uruguay star Luis Suarez says Italy are still a threat even without Mario Balotelli ahead of their Confederations Cup third-place play-off.
The AC Milan striker has been sent back to Italy after being ruled out of the tournament with an injury in the group stage defeat by hosts Brazil.

While Blatter admitted he had sympathy for the protestors, he believes football is playing a positive role in helping to deal with the social unrest.
"FIFA has come out of this stronger, with our image enhanced. Football has played a positive part here and given emotion," Blatter said.
"Naturally the competition has been played now in a situation where there was definitely the social unrest with protests.
