Scolari details Brazil´s struggles
Brazil head coach Luis Felipe Scolari has conceded his team was 'lost for almost 20 minutes' during their 2-0 win over Mexico.
While the final score at the Estadio Governador Placido Aderaldo Castelo may have suggested Brazil cruised in their FIFA Confederations Cup clash with Mexico, Scolari made it clear his team lost focus during Wednesday's game.
Jo, who scored the clinching goal in second-half stoppage time, said Brazil were complacent against Mexico, while Scolari believes his team showed a 'lack of attention' after Neymar opened the scoring in the ninth minu

Prandelli acknowledges Italy´s luck
Italy coach Cesare Prandelli says his team were fortunate to escape from their Confederations Cup clash against Japan with a 4-3 victory.
Italy came back from a 2-0 deficit to triumph on Wednesday, and were lucky to be awarded a penalty after a harsh handball call against Makoto Hasebe, not to mention a host of near misses from Japan, who were the better team for much of the game.
And Prandelli was left under no illusions as to his side's good fortune throughout the match, telling reporters: "Against Mexico we deserved (to win), but not today.
"We deserved that game against Mexico, but tonight we (were dealt) a crazy hand. In the first 25 minutes we did not understand wha

Mexico coach denies strip club visit
Jose Manuel de la Torre has moved to dismiss rumours his Mexico players visited a strip club while on Confederations Cup duty.
Reports in Brazil suggested the Mexico squad visited a strip club after their 2-1 loss to Italy on Sunday but their coach has denied the claims.
"No. We don't have a report on that. It's not like there's even time to do that," he said.
A 2-0 loss to Brazil on Wednesday ended Mexico's participation in the competition at the group stage but the 49-year-old said their campaign was not a failure.
"Failure? This is not a failure. Failure is when you stop fighting, we simply did

Keshi wants Nigeria to step up
Nigeria head coach Stephen Keshi has challenged his team to go to 'another level' in their FIFA Confederations Cup clash with Uruguay.
Keshi was left underwhelmed by his team's finishing ability in their tournament opener against Tahiti, which Nigeria won 6-1, the 51-year-old coach feeling his forwards should have converted more goal-scoring opportunities.
Although Nigeria could wrap up a spot in the Confederations Cup semi-finals if they defeat Uruguay in Bahia on Thursday, Keshi has said the long-term success of his side remains the priority.

Del Bosque respectful of lowly Tahiti
Spain head coach Vicente del Bosque has insisted his team will prepare to play underdogs Tahiti just like they would for any other team.
Fans will flock to the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday, expecting Spain, the reigning world and European champions, to destroy the French Polynesian minnows, who are ranked 137 positions below Del Bosque's team on the FIFA rankings.
Tahiti were thumped 6-1 by Nigeria in their opening game of the FIFA Confederations Cup, while Spain overcame Uruguay 2-1, but Del Bosque said he has not allowed his players to take it easy in the lead-up to their clash with the Oceania Nations Cup champions.
"We have prepared like we would for any oth

Garcia targets Europe´s elite
New Roma coach Rudi Garcia wants to lead the club into the UEFA Champions League while playing attractive football.
The capital city club endured a turbulent 2012/13 season, finishing sixth in Serie A under caretaker coach Aurelio Andreazzoli, who took over from the sacked Zdenek Zeman in February.
Garcia has made the move to Estadio Olimpico after five years with Lille and said he is looking forward to the challenge of reviving Roma's fortunes.
"There is a competitive squad here. Now the important thing is that we get back into Europe - if that is through the biggest door (the Champions League) then that would be better," he told reporters.

Villas-Boas eyes crucial period
Andre Villas-Boas believes good form in November and December will be crucial to Tottenham's hopes of breaking into the top four.
Last season Spurs missed out on UEFA Champions League qualification despite recording their highest ever English Premier League points tally, with Arsenal pipping their north London rivals on the final day.
Key to their impressive return was a run of seven wins in nine matches between November 25 and January 1, and Villas-Boas believes momentum during the winter months will be key again.
"At certain times of the season we have compact fixtures with the top teams again," he told the club's o

Red Star coach steps down
Red Star Belgrade coach Ricardo Sa Pinto has resigned from his position after just three months in charge.
Sa Pinto's announcement came after he suggested that he had asked the board to make signings while he was on holiday, and they had failed to do so.
The debt-ridden club won the European Cup (now UEFA Champions League) in 1991 but have struggled recently, going six years without winning a league title.
"I came here to win trophies but that is an impossible task in the present circumstances. I gave the board enough time to sort things out when I left to Portugal on vacation but they have failed to make enough progress, not least in boosting the squad," the
