Real Madrid have announced that Carlo Ancelotti will be presented as the club's new manager on Wednesday after signing a three-year deal.
The Italian has departed Paris Saint-Germain after just one-and-a-half seasons in charge, and has been succeeded in the French capital by Laurent Blanc.
Ancelotti, who won the Ligue 1 title with PSG in 2012-13, takes over from Jose Mourinho at the Santiago Bernabeu following the Portuguese's departure to Chelsea.
The 54-year-old began his career in football as a midfielder with Parma, and went on to represent his country at international level throughout spells with Roma and Milan.
Following his retirement from playing, Ancelotti took up a role as Reggiana boss and, after two-year stints atParma and Juventus, returned to Milan as Fatih Terim's successor.
He enjoyed remarkable success at the San Siro, winning two UEFA Champions Leagues and one Serie A title over eight years in charge.
A short spell with Chelsea followed, but he was sacked by owner Roman Abramovich after a trophyless campaign despite having won the Premier League title and an FA Cup in his first season.
And, after 18 months of success at the Parc des Princes, Ancelotti has now been selected to take on the top job at Real.
