Massimo Ambrosini is considering the possibility of joining Fiorentina when his contract with Milan expires.
The former Italy international is departing the San Siro after 18 seasons, with Premier League side West Ham said to be among his potential suitors.
However, although Milan beat Fiorentina to third place in Serie A to secure their entry into next season's UEFA Champions League, Ambrosini would consider a move to the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
"Fiorentina are a great club, a great team with a great manager who have a very interesting project," he said.
"If they were to approach me I would listen to what they had to say."
The 36-year-old won four league titles and two Champions League trophies with Milan, and while he is saddened by his departure, he intends to extend his playing career.
"This is my last press conference as a Milan player and I want to thank you all for 18 fantastic years that I won't ever forget," he added.
"I had to give myself a couple of days to work off a little of the inevitable sadness but life goes on. I still feel like a footballer and I will carry on playing."
