Stephan El Shaarawy's agent has described reports linking the AC Milan forward with a move to Napoli as an honour for the player.
The 20-year-old has been one of the success stories of the club's season, but his form since January has been the subject of much concern, with coach Massmiliano Allegri stating earlier this month that the player is mentally and physically drained.
However, that has not halted speculation linking the Italy international with a move away from San Siro, and Roberto La Florio says the player is honoured to have caught the eye of Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
"This is a true privilege, also because we are talking about a president at the head of a big club whose consideration is important," La Florio told Radio Kiss Kiss.
"But it seems to me that Milan have made an investment in their squad, choosing the road of rejuvenation.
"Milan are rebuilding and they plan to hold onto the youngsters that they are counting on, as demonstrated by the fact that he [El Shaarawy] renewed his contract a year ago, until 2018.
"I also know nothing of this approach at this time. I had read about something in January, but also that Milan had calmly rejected this proposal."
El Shaarawy, who has been capped six times by Italy, arrived at Milan two years ago.
