Messi in doubt for Mallorca, PSG
Lionel Messi remains in doubt for Barcelona's Champions League quarter-final second leg with Paris Saint-Germain following tests.
Messi was withdrawn at half-time in the 2-2 draw at Parc des Princes on Tuesday, when he appeared to suffer a leg injury shortly after putting Barcelona 1-0 ahead.
The Argentina star has since undergone scans, and the club have confirmed he has a problem with his right femoral bicep, putting him in doubt for Saturday's Liga match with Real Mallorca.
A statement on Barca's official website read: "Tests have confirmed that Leo Messi has a muscle injury in the femoral bicep

Pallota stands by Roma decisions
Roma president James Pallotta has defended his record after a potentially significant investment in the club failed to materialise.
The American entrepreneur, who is a member of the executive board of the NBA's Boston Celtics, took charge of Roma last August, succeeding countryman Thomas DiBenedetto.
A mystery Middle Eastern investor was reportedly close to sealing a 100 million-euro investment in the Serie A club last month, only for the deal to fall through.
Pallota has since been accused of being duped by 'fake sheikh' Adnan Adel Aref Al Qaddumi Al Shtewi.

Xavi has faith in Barca depth
Barcelona midfielder Xavi is confident his side have the depth to replace Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano.
The Argentine duo picked up injuries in the Catalans' 2-2 Champions League draw against Paris Saint-Germain in Tuesday's quarter-final first leg in the French capital.
Messi stayed behind in the dressing-room at half-time after picking up a hamstring injury, and will undergo a series of tests on Wednesday to determine its extent.
Mascherano will be out of action for an estimated six weeks due to a knee problem he picked up late in the second half.

Robben taking nothing for granted
Arjen Robben has warned Bayern Munich of complacency following Tuesday's 2-0 Champions League win over Juventus.
The Bavarians appear to have one foot in the semi-final following their victory over the Serie A champions in the first leg at Allianz Arena.
But Bayern winger Robben has warned that his side's narrow escape in the round-of-16 tie against Arsenal shows that anything can still happen.
"I think we were very confident and overall we played very well," the Dutchman told uefa.com.
"Scoring a goal within 30 seconds was a grea

Reina stays in Rodgers´ plans
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has rubbished speculation linking Pepe Reina with a move away from Anfield.
The Spanish goalkeeper's form this term has fallen well below the high standards set in previous campaigns.
Yet it has done little to deter talk of a close-season switch away from the Merseyside club with Arsenal and Barcelona both reportedly interested.
However, Rodgers has moved to quell rumours of Reina's exit and maintains that the 30-year-old will remain an integral part of his squad for some time yet.

Laudrup eyes transfer spree
Swansea manager Michael Laudrup is lining up to six potential new signings in the close season, according to assistant Alan Curtis.
Laudrup's side earned qualification to the Europa League via their League Cup triumph in February and, sitting in ninth place in the Premier League, are already virtually guaranteed a third straight Premier League campaign.
And the former Mallorca coach is now preparing for a recruitment drive that will enable his side to cope with the bloated schedule that comes with competing on the continent, Swansea assistant manager Curtis says.

Zidane adds to Bale plaudits
Real Madrid director of football Zinedine Zidane believes Gareth Bale is nearing the level of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
The Welshman has scored 17 goals in 27 Premier League appearances this term to lead Tottenham's chase for a top-four finish - form which has seen him strongly linked with a close-season move to the Spanish capital.
And three-time Ballon d'Or winner Zidane has fuelled further speculation by lavishing praise on the winger.
"This year the player who has impressed me most is not actually playing in the Champions League," Zidane told Sky Sports. "He is playing in the other cup

Both sides have made astonishing progress in Europe this season and meet one another hoping to take one step towards the semi-finals

Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso is hopeful that head coach Jose Mourinho will not leave Real Madrid in the close season.
Mourinho is being linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu, with the Portuguese stating more than once that he has set his sights on a return to the Premier League.
Nevertheless, Alonso thinks that the 50-year-old will stay put for the foreseeable future.

Drogba backs Mourinho-Chelsea reunion
Galatasary striker Didier Drogba believes Chelsea will thrive if Jose Mourinho was to return to Stamford Bridge.
Drogba, who will take on his former manager when Galatasary face Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday, feels Mourinho has unfinished business in west London.
Mourinho has been linked with a return to his former club in the past months, and Drogba believes the 50-year-old could help turn Chelsea's fortunes around.

Glory embrace underdog status
Perth Glory defender Scott Jamieson says his side are relishing the role of underdogs as they prepare for the A-League finals.
Having squeezed into the top six on goal-difference courtesy of last weekend's draw with Adelaide, Glory face a cut-throat elimination final at Melbourne Victory on Friday.
And Jamieson is quite happy for the hosts to carry the extra pressure of the favourites tag.
"If you look at where we were six weeks ago, to get where we are now was unexpected," Jamieson said.

Real Madrid should be fully rested and ready to go when they host Galatasaray in their UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg.

Ancelotti blasts ´diver´ Sanchez
Carlo Ancelotti has slammed Alexis Sanchez after he won a late penalty in the 2-2 draw at Parc des Princes on Tuesday.
The Chilean striker was brought down by Salvatore Sirigu late on with the scores level at 1-1, allowing Xavi to notch a second away goal before Blaise Matuidi's last-gasp equaliser.
Although replays showed there was contact between the players, Paris Saint-Germain coach Ancelotti insists the referee made an incorrect call, but claimed he is used to the former Udinese winger attempting to earn fouls.
"Alexis looked for the goalkeeper, it was not a penalty," he told Canal + after

Champions League: PSG 2:2 Barcelona
Two late goals saw Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain play out a 2-2 draw in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
Tito Vilanova returned to the Barca dugout for the first time in months after undergoing cancer treatment in New York, but his long-awaited comeback was tainted somewhat by the departure of Lionel Messi at half-time with a hamstring injury.
But the Argentine still managed to leave his mark, slotting home the opener from a Dani Alves assist to give Barca a narrow lead at the interval, after PSG were the more threatening side.

Champions League: Bayern Munich 2:0 Juventus
Bayern Munich took a significant step towards the semi-finals of the Champions League with a 2-0 first-leg success over Juventus.
After opening the scoring inside a minute on Tuesday courtesy of a deflected drive from David Alaba, the runaway Bundesliga leaders dominated what many felt would be the most closely contested of the four quarter-finals and were full value for a victory which was deservedly capped by a second-half strike from Thomas Muller.
Bayern had gone into the game on the back of a devastating 9-2 domestic defeat of Hamburg but even they could not have imagined that they would open the scoring against the tightest def
