Borussia is in good form ahead of most important matches of the season. Particularly important will be the first one, because they play it at home and will need a good game to achieve an advantage for the rematch in Madrid. In the quarterfinals they played against the Spanish Malaga, but then had been declared frontrunners but almost paid that qualification with elimination. As guests have outplayed the opponents, however, they didn’t score a goal, but in the rematch have underestimated Malaga and won the semi-final with goals scored in the finish of the match. For them it was a great school, which significantly raised their self-confidence, and they very securely won next two championships games. Next-to-last Furth was defeated with 6-1 in the away game, and on last Saturday they were stronger than Mainz for two goals (2-0). Interestingly, the coach Klopp decided that both of those matches play with a pretty strong team, although are securely second in the table and there is no need for extra points. Against Furth he rested Reus, Subotic, Schmelzer and S.Bender and on last Saturday there was no only lightly injured Bender, while all other players did play and the same team will play against Real Madrid, with just one change where Sahin will replace Bender.

Real is in a similar situation like Borussia when it comes to the championship, but they are not cemented in the second place and will have to fight for it. The title is lost, and the Cup remains, but above all is the Championship League where ambition is the tenth title, which they have been waiting for 11 years. They went through the quarter-finals without much trouble, although they were defeated by Galatasaray in Istanbul, but they won the first match in Madrid with 3-0. In the meanwhile, they do routine work in the national championship, and have fairly easy and conceivably won in two previous rounds. In Bilbao have won with 3-0, but a very strong lineup played, led by Ronaldo, who scored two goals. Against Betis on last Saturday, however, the team was changed, so Casemiro and Nacho played, who are normally part of a reserve team, but they nevertheless won with 3-1, but they paid the price with injuries of Marcela and Modric, who will not play in Dortmund. Suspended Arbeloa will be absent too, meaning that Sergio Ramos could go to the right flank and Pepe on the stopper position, while the biggest dilemma will be between Benzema and Higuain in top of the attack.
