Dundee stay alive

Dundee kept their slim hopes of Scottish Premier League survival alive with a 2-1 win against 10-man St Mirren on Saturday.
James McAlister opened the scoring for Dundee in the 40th minute, before Steven Thompson levelled proceedings seven minutes into the second half.

Dundee received a welcome boost when St Mirren midfielder Jim Goodwin was dismissed for a second bookable offence on 65 minutes, and capitalised on the advantage when Carl Finnigan scored a controversial header soon after.

Finnigan's header was judged to have crossed the line by the match officials, despite St Mirren's protests, ensuring Dundee live to fight another day in the top flight.

Meanwhile, John Sutton scored the decisive goal in the fourth minute as Hearts recorded a 1-0 win at Kilmarnock.

The hosts had several shots on target in reply, but failed to find an equaliser as Hearts began their bottom six fixtures on a high.
