Roura: La Liga the top priority

Barcelona assistant Jordi Roura says winning the La Liga title is the main priority this season, not the Champions League.
Barca have effectively wrapped up a fourth league title in five years, holding a 13-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of the table.

And despite Tuesday's Champions League semi-final first leg with Bayern Munich on the horizon, the 45-year-old assistant coach says that the league takes precedence.

"For us the league is the most important tournament. If we win the league, and only the league, I think we have to be very happy with the season we've had," Roura told reporters, before Saturday's game against Levante at Camp Nou.

"The team has overcome many difficult times. We've had a plague of injuries and we managed to cope with them. The team has been able to maintain regularity and intensity, overcoming many adversities.

"We need nine more points to win the league and we will try to do it sooner rather than later," he added.

Barcelona's biggest concern ahead of their trip to Munich is the fitness of a number of key defenders, and Roura says the likes of Carles Puyol and Javier Mascherano will only be fit for the second leg at the earliest.

"Both Puyol and Mascherano have a chance to be ready for the return game against Bayern, but it will be close," he added.

The first leg is at Allianz Arena on Tuesday, with the return fixture at Camp Nou on Wednesday, May 1.
