Leon Britton says Swansea must take three points against Southampton to maintain their hopes of a top-10 finish.
The Swans have been on a poor run of form lately, not tasting victory since beating Newcastle 1-0 on March 2 and can next rectify that slump against Mauricio Pochettino's improving Saints.
"Southampton have done brilliantly recently, particularly since the new manager came in. They've beaten some massive teams and now they are pretty much safe," midfielder Britton told the club's official website.
"They have been on a great run of form and that's something we are well aware of. It's going to be a very tough afternoon for us.
"But we want to finish in the top 10. We've not been on the best of runs recently, so we need to pick up wins. It's not good drawing or losing because teams are catching up to us."
Britton feels that the atmosphere at the Liberty Stadium could be the key in turning around their form against the south-coast club.
"Home form is massive for us," he added. "It always has been since we came to the Liberty and there will be a great atmosphere yet again this weekend.
"It's important we get back on track and victory over Southampton at a packed-out Liberty will do that for us."
