Paulista slumped to a fifth straight defeat in the Campeonato Paulista, as Ituano chalked up a drought-breaking 3-2 win on the road.
Hosts Paulista led twice in the first half via goals to Marcelo Macedo and Chiquinho.
Thiago Bezerra had drawn Ituano level in the opening 45 minutes, but they trailed 2-1 at the interval.
A three-minute burst from the visitors, though, extended Paulista's woes, as a Fernando Gabriel penalty drew Ituano level on 59 minutes.
Vitor Hugo then scored the winner in the 62nd minute, firing Ituano out of the relegation zone and into 16th spot in the table.
They are level on 17 points with Paulista in 14th.
Atletico Sorocaba continued their impressive form with a third straight win - beating Oeste 1-0 at home to move above their opponents into 11th spot.
The hosts at Centro de Integracao Comunitario Walter Ribeiro did it the hard way - losing substitute Gerson in the third minute of second-half injury time to a red card.
But in the sixth additional minute, Edson Sitta struck the winner to send the home fans into raptures.
The result marked a third straight defeat for Oeste and was their fourth match without a win.
