Blood clot sidelines Robinson
Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson has been ruled out of action for six months after a blood clot was found in his lung.
The 41-cap England international was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism after developing respiratory problems following a back operation, the Championship club has confirmed.
Robinson is now at home, having spent the weekend being monitored in hospital, but is likely to miss the start of next season.
Blackburn have been dealt a further blow between the sticks with the news that goalkeeper Jake Kean has also been ruled out for the rest of the season.
Kean requires an operation on his left knee after tearing cartilage during the 3-0 defeat to Cardiff on Monday and will be out for six weeks, leaving Grzegorz Sandomierski as the club's only available keeper.
Rovers are 19th in the Championship with six games remaining, clear of the relegation places on goal difference only.
