A wonder goal from Emmanuel Adebayor brought Tottenham level but sloppy defending just before half-time allowed Ramires to score his fifth league goal of the season.

Chelsea looked on course to seal the win but with 10 minutes remaining substitute Sigurdsson finished smartly to earn a share of the points.

Serie A: Atalanta 0:1 Juventus
serie a
Juventus won their ninth Serie A match in a row after edging Atalanta 1-0 in Bergamo on Wednesday.
Alessandro Matri scored the only goal of the game in the 18th minute for Juve, who have now won their last six matches at Atalanta.

The match was marred by first-half crowd trouble, with proceedings suspended for 10 minutes after fans were throwing flares at each other.

Juventus manager Antonio Conte and Atalanta striker German Denis were just two of the figures who tried to calm the tension at Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia and play did resume, although the scoreline remained the same despite the best efforts of both sides.

Manchester United fans fear for future, says Drasdo
premier league
Manchester United Supporters' Trust (MUST) head Duncan Drasdo expects "disquiet" among the club's support after Alex Ferguson's retirement.
The Scot revealed on Wednesday that he will bring his 27-year reign at Old Trafford to an end when the Premier League season reaches its conclusion on May 19.

And MUST chief executive Drasdo believes fans will harbour fear over life after the 71-year-old, who has lifted 38 trophies during his time at United.

"(Fans are) distraught, (there's) utter despair," he said. "People are immensely grateful to Sir Alex for what he has contributed and so first of all fans want to say thank you.

Abidal´s Barca future unclear
champions league
Eric Abidal is frustrated by Barcelona stalling on making a decision over his future at Camp Nou, the Frenchman's agent has claimed.

But the Frenchman has not yet been offered a new contract with his current deal set to expire in the off-season.

"Abidal is starting to get disillusioned with how long it takes for Barcelona to make a decision about his future," David Venditelli told RAC1.

Mourinho ´not right for United´, claims Lowe
Jose Mourinho would not be an ideal candidate for the manager's job at Manchester United, according to Spanish-based journalist Sid Lowe.
Alex Ferguson announced his decision to retire from football management on Wednesday, and Mourinho's name has been touted as a potential replacement.

But Lowe believes the idea was never seriously considered, with current Everton manager David Moyes the overwhelming favourite to take over at Old Trafford.

"The reality is of course that talk of Jose Mourinho potentially going to Manchester United really didn't last very long because everybody here (in Spain) quickly cottoned on to the fact that David Moyes was a very clear favourite," Lowe said.

Alonso plans Madrid stay
Xabi Alonso has moved to quash rumours that he will leave Real Madrid at the end of the season.
The Spain international had been linked with a move to Premier League outfit Chelsea, if Jose Mourinho were to take over as manager at Stamford Bridge in the off-season.

But the 31-year-old is adamant he will prolong his four-year stay at the Bernabeu for at least one more season.

"Of course I'm going to be here next season," Alonso said following Madrid's 6-2 victory over Malaga on Wednesday.

Despite the high-scoring win, Barcelona can wrap up the Liga title if they beat Atletico Madrid on Sunday, after finishing second to Real last term.

Martinez can do better than Everton
premier league
Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has claimed that Roberto Martinez should hold out to join a top European club amid links with Everton.
The Spaniard has emerged as the clear favourite to succeed David Moyes at Goodison Park with the Scot widely reported that the 50-year-old was set to depart in order to take over at Manchester United.

But Whelan believes Martinez should wait for a better opportunity than that offered by the Merseyside outfit.

"It's a battle that I will lose and Wigan will lose (at some point), I've no question on that," Whelan told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"It's (a case of) would Roberto choose to go ... Read more »

England fans avoid FIFA racism action
FIFA have announced that the Football Association will face no disciplinary action over allegations of racist chanting from England fans.
European anti-racism body FARE had reported that songs calling for Rio and Anton Ferdinand to be burned on a "bonfire" were sung during England's 8-0 away win against San Marino in March.

It was widely suggested that the chants were aired in support of John Terry, who retired from international duty in September 2012 after being found guilty of racially abusing Anton by the FA

However, FIFA say that a lack of evidence has hampered their case.

"We can confirm that in the case of alleged racist chanting during the recent Wor ... Read more »
