Serie A : Siena - Milan
serie a
Milan can secure their place in next season's UEFA Champions League if they take victory in their final game at relegated Siena.
Massimiliano Allegri's men sit third in the Serie A table, two points ahead of Fiorentina, who play Pescara in their final outing, and know that a slip-up could be catastrophic in their quest to ensure a spot in Europe's top club competition.

Milan head into this one in good form having lost just one of their last six outings in the league, scoring four goals in two of their last four matches.

However, they will have to try to seal a top-three berth without midfielder Sulley Muntari after he was suspended following an altercation with the referee in th ... Read more »

Premier League : Southampton - Stoke City
premier league
With safety assured the pressure is off Southampton and Stoke City when they meet in the final game of the Premier League season.
The two are separated by one point and three places in the Premier League and if either side picks up three points they will finish above the other.

Southampton's first season back in the top flight since 2005 has had its ups and downs, they struggled at the start of the season but from December they moved out of the bottom three and have pulled themselves away from trouble.

They have won six games at home this season, including victories over Manchester City and Liverpool, and when they recorded three consecutive victories in mid-March they lo ... Read more »

Ancelotti denies Real contact
Paris Saint-Germain manager Carlo Ancelotti has denied he has been in contact with Real Madrid about taking over at the Bernabeu.
The Italian has long been linked with the role in the Spanish capital, with Jose Mourinho widely expected to leave and rejoin Chelsea.

However, Ancelotti, who has guided PSG to their first French league title since 1994 and came close to knocking out Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, insisted there have been no negotiations between himself and the deposed La Liga champions.

"I am honoured of the job I have done here. A manager in general has big responsibility. When you achieve a result you have to be honoured," Ancelotti said.

Balotelli warned against walk-off protest
Mario Balotelli faces dismissal if he walks off in protest at racist chanting, the head of the Italian Referees Association has declared.
The Milan striker said earlier in the week that he would walk off the pitch if he was subjected to racist abuse from opposing fans.

Balotelli has been the target of chants from fans of Roma and Inter among others, but the head of referees in Italy confirmed the former Manchester City striker would be dismissed if he carried out his threat to exit the field of play.

He told Italian news service SkyTG24: "Everyone is free to express their own opinions but there are rules. Whoever leaves the field to make a protest, without warning the referee or without being substituted will be sent off." ... Read more »

Serie A : Inter Milan - Udinese
serie a
Udinese will aim to seal a European spot with a win over Inter Milan on the final day of the Serie A season on Sunday.
With one match remaining, Udinese sit two points clear of Lazio in fifth - the last UEFA Europa League place in Italy.

Francesco Guidolin's men have won seven straight matches and visit an Inter side who have been in disappointing form.

Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni is under increasing pressure with his outfit ninth and unable to finish any higher than eighth.

With just one win from their past eight encounters in all competitions, Inter are likely to again find it difficult.

Premier League: West Brom - Manchester United
premier league
Manchester United head to West Brom on Sunday knowing the club will never be the same again once the final whistle sounds.
While there is nothing riding on the match, United's players will undoubtedly be desperate for victory to give outgoing manager Alex Ferguson a fitting send-off in his 1,500th, and final, game in charge.

Ferguson stunned the football world when he announced his retirement last week and following Sunday's Premier League game, the club he is synonymous with will begin a new chapter under David Moyes.

West Brom will give Ferguson a guard of honour before the game kicks off at The Hawthorns, although the home side's manager Steve Clarke insists it will no ... Read more »

Premier League : West Ham - Reading
premier league
West Ham midfielder Jack Collison has urged his team-mates to finish the Premier League season on a high against relegated Reading.
Collison, who has played a part in West Ham's past 11 Premier League matches to take his season tally to 16 games, has called on the east London club to ensure a top-half finish with victory against Reading on Sunday.

The 24-year-old Welsh midfielder feels the final match of the season is an opportunity to celebrate "a magnificent season".

"We're really looking forward to the Reading game, back at home, in front of our fans and hopefully we'll have reasons to celebrate," Collison told the club's official website.

Premier League : Tottenham - Sunderland
premier league
Emmanuel Adebayor could cap off an amazing transformation on Sundayunday as he looks to be the key to Tottenham's UEFA Champions League bid.
Tottenham will host Sunderland at White Hart Lane on the final day of the 2012-13 Premier League, knowing victory is their only option if they are to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League ahead of arch-rivals Arsenal.

With 90 minutes remaining in this campaign, Tottenham sit fifth in the table with 69 points and plus 19 goal difference, while Arsenal (70 points, plus 34) hold fourth spot and its accompanying berth in the qualifying stages of the 2013-14 UEFA Champions League.

Premier League : Liverpool - QPR
premier league
Queens Park Rangers will bid farewell to the Premier League at Anfield when they visit Liverpool on Sunday.
The only achievement possible for Harry Redknapp's charges heading into the final day is a minor chance of escaping bottom spot - as a win over Brendan Rodgers' team, combined with a Reading loss to West Ham, would see them into 19th spot and avoid the dreaded last place.

It would be mere consolation, of course, given the body blow of relegation - confirmed three games ago when they drew with fellow Championship side-to-be Reading - will still be felt at Loftus Road for some time to come.

Liverpool can gain nothing from the season finale - nor can they suffer - in t ... Read more »

Premier League : Swansea - Fulham
premier league
Fulham's visit to Swansea on Sunday is of little consequence in the Premier League, but Martin Jol's men will want to avoid another defeat.
Jol's men can - mathematically - finish in the top 10, albeit requiring multiple results to fall their way.

And the one result that hasn't gone Fulham's way of late is their own - they haven't won in seven matches, losing six of them.

It seems once the west Londoners hit 40 points - they did so with a 1-1 draw at Aston Villa - they took their foot off the gas, as they fell to Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton, Reading and Liverpool.

While four of those five are top-seven clu ... Read more »

premier league
Arsenal will be looking for a rare win at St James' Park against Newcastle to secure a spot in next season's UEFA Champions League.
With fourth position in the English Premier League yet to be decided heading into the final day of the season, Arsenal need a victory on Sunday to be assured of a top-four finish ahead of arch-rivals Tottenham, who host Sunderland.

Arsenal sit fourth on the Premier League table with 70 points and plus 34 goal difference, while Tottenham (69, plus 19) are in fifth position.

To wrap up a spot in the qualifying stages of next season's UEFA Champions League, Arsenal will need to achieve something they have only managed once since 2004 - win at St ... Read more »

Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski says his future will be revealed at the end of the season.
The Poland international signalled his intention not to sign a new contract at the club earlier this term but Dortmund have insisted they are prepared to hold him to the last year of his existing deal, which expires at the end of next season.

Bayern Munich and Manchester United reportedly have a strong interest in the 24-year-old.

Xavi slams Mourinho treatment of Casillas
Barcelona midfielder Xavi has accused Real Madrid manager of treating his international team-mate Iker Casillas as "deadwood".
Casillas has not figured for Real since January when he fractured his hand in a game against Valencia, making just 29 appearances in all competitions this season and playing second fiddle to former Villarreal and Sevilla keeper Diego Lopez.

33-year-old Xavi has won two UEFA European Championships and a FIFA World Cup under the captaincy of Casillas in the Spain national team, and was eager to criticise Mourinho's decision to drop the stopper from his side.

"In September, they were touting him for the Ballon d'Or. Now it's like he's dead wood," Xavi said.

Premier League: Chelsea - Everton
premier league
Rafael Benitez and David Moyes bid farewell to their respective clubs on Sunday and will look to end their tenures on a high.
Chelsea are looking for a victory at Stamford Bridge to avoid the prospect of a play-off with Arsenal for third place in the Premier League.

Benitez's side know three points will guarantee them third place but if they draw 0-0 and Arsenal beat Newcastle United by more than one goal, Arsene Wenger's men would overhaul them.

If Chelsea were to draw 0-0 and Arsenal win 2-1 the two teams will be level on points, goal difference and goals scored which would mean a third-place play-off match for the first time in Premier League history.

Bundesliga : Dortmund - Hoffenheim
bundesliga
Hoffenheim will travel to the Westfalenstadion on Saturday looking to preserve their Bundesliga status.
A win for Markus Gisdol's men, coupled with favourable results elsewhere, could see second-bottom Hoffenheim finish in either the relegation play-off spot, or completely out of the relegation places.

However, Hoffenheim are in poor form, having won just twice in six games, and come into the match with off the back of a 4-1 defeat against Hamburg.

They also face a Dortmund side who are guaranteed second place in this year's Bundesliga and are unbeaten in eight league matches.
