Berlin to host 2015 UEFA Champions League final
Berlin will host the UEFA Champions League final for the first time after the Olympic Stadium was announced as the host of the 2015 final.
It will be the eighth time Germany has hosted the final with Munich, Stuttgart and Gelsenkirchen all having been chosen in the competition's history in both its guises - the European Cup and the Champions League.
The 74,000-seater stadium in the German capital is the home of recently promoted Hertha Berlin but has never been used for a major European final, despite hosting the Olympics in 1936 and the World Cup final in 2006.

Ferdinand extends Manchester United deal
Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has signed a new one-year contract at Old Trafford.
The former Leeds United and West Ham man has made 432 appearances for the club since his debut in 2002, having signed for a then British record of 30 million pounds from Elland Road.
Ferdinand decided to end his international career last week in order to prolong his time at Old Trafford, having withdrawn from Roy Hodgson's squad to face San Marino and Montenegro in March due to a conflict in fitness schedules.

Rodgers wants quick decision on Carroll future
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers believes any decision on Andy Carroll's future will be made quickly.
Carroll has been on loan at West Ham this season in an attempt to play regularly, with Rodgers not seeing the forward as part of his first-team plans.
With a 15 million-pound bid for Carroll from West Ham reported to have been accepted by Anfield bosses, the former Newcastle United man may be set for a permanent move to the capital and Rodgers is keen for the situation to be resolved quickly.
"At the start of the season the whole thing was about going and getting games because he wasn't going to be a starter here," he told The Guardian.

Shinji Kagawa wants improved European performances for Manchester United after being inspired by Borussia Dortmund's success.

Mata hopes for Mourinho arrival
Juan Mata has hailed Jose Mourinho as "one of the best" managers and is hopeful that he will return to Stamford Bridge.
The Spanish forward signed for Chelsea in August 2011 and although he has won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and FA Cup during his time at the club, he has yet to lift the Premier League trophy.
Mourinho's departure from Real Madrid by mutual consent was confirmed on Monday by president Florentino Perez, leaving him free to return to London after five years away.

West Ham's Guy Demel said he and his team-mates are proud of their impressive home record this season.
This campaign has seen West Ham lose just four times at Upton Park in the Premier League and Demel believes their pride in this record supplied them with the motivation for their 4-2 win over Reading.

Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo have been given two-match bans following the Copa Del Rey final on Friday.
Mourinho was sent to the stands for remonstrating with the officials during Real's defeat to rivals Atletico, while Ronaldo was dismissed for aiming a kick at Atletico captain Gabi late in the game.

Green wants first-team football at QPR
QPR goalkeeper Rob Green wants to ensure he plays regular first-team football next season.
Green has seen his appearances for Harry Redknapp's side limited due to the arrival of Julio Cesar at the start of the season and said that next season he hopes to establish himself as the Loftus Road number one.

Pulis left the Britannia Stadium on Tuesday following a seven-year stint and Etherington praised the Welshman for guiding the club to the Premier League and then consolidating.

Fulham sign Boateng
Fulham have announced the signing of Ghana international midfielder Derek Boateng on a free transfer.
The 30-year-old, who has 47 caps for his country, joins Martin Jol's side after leaving Dnipro, having previously played for Spanish side Getafe.
After the club received international clearance for Boateng, Fulham's newest recruit revealed his delight at joining the club and said he would give everything while he was there.
