Xabi Alonso has moved to quash rumours that he will leave Real Madrid at the end of the season.
The Spain international had been linked with a move to Premier League outfit Chelsea, if Jose Mourinho were to take over as manager at Stamford Bridge in the off-season.
But the 31-year-old is adamant he will prolong his four-year stay at the Bernabeu for at least one more season.
"Of course I'm going to be here next season," Alonso said following Madrid's 6-2 victory over Malaga on Wednesday.
Despite the high-scoring win, Barcelona can wrap up the Liga title if they beat Atletico Madrid on Sunday, after finishing second to Real last term.
While Madrid look certain to surrender their La Liga crown, they still have the Copa del Rey final to contest against their city rivals and Alonso insists they must retain high standards.
"It's important to maintain good feelings, with an important match coming up next week," he added.
"We prepared for this match (against Malaga) with the same seriousness as always and with the desire to do well.
"We're mentally prepared for the cup final, it will be a tough match. It's a clear objective, one we can achieve this year and nothing else can distract us. We all have to pull in the same direction."
