Strootman would fit Liverpool or Tottenham
Former PSV coach Dick Advocaat has lauded Kevin Strootman, suggesting the midfielder could easily make the grade at Liverpool or Tottenham. The 23-year-old made 34 appearances for PSV last season, scoring eight goals to help the Philips Stadion outfit to second place in the Eredivisie.
And Advocaat, who announced his retirement at the end of the campaign, believes Strootman could emulate Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry.
"(He would be good for) Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, but I think he's also good enough for Manchester City and Manchester United," Advocaat told De Telegraaf.

Roma condemn racist fans
Roma have released a statement condemning racism after their fans were alleged to have abused Milan striker Mario Balotelli on Sunday. Roma's travelling supporters were reportedly singing racist chants at Balotelli during the goalless Serie A draw between the two sides at San Siro.
The ground announcer warned the crowd to stop the abuse in the first half, or the game would be suspended, and at least temporarily, referee Gianluca Rocchi followed through on the warning in the second period.
The match was briefly halted before resuming again as neither side could find a winner in a result that leaves Milan in danger of missing out on a UEFA Champions League place next season, a fea

Southampton deserve to be safe
Jason Puncheon believes Southampton deserve their spot in the Premier League after securing safety with a 1-1 draw at Sunderland on Sunday.
The winger struck for Mauricio Pochettino's side to secure a 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light, which guarantees their survival by virtue of the fact Wigan and Aston Villa face each other on the last day of the season.
"It's a massive feeling knowing that it's more or less there," Puncheon told The Daily Echo.
"For the season we've had and the way we've gone about it it's even better, because we deserve it, as a group of players and as a football club.

Begovic calls for strong finish
Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic is looking to finish the season on a positive note after a 2-1 defeat to Tottenham on Sunday.
Tony Pulis' men were undone by goals from Clint Dempsey and Emmanuel Adebayor after Steven N'Zonzi had given them a third-minute lead.
Stoke face Southampton at St Mary's on Sunday in the knowledge they will once again be playing Premier League football next season.
"It's disappointing to lose our final home game of the season, of course it is," Begovic said.
"We can't let it affect us going into next weekend's game though. We want to go down there and get the result that would ensure a good end to the season for us.

Granero casts doubt on QPR future
QPR midfielder Esteban Granero has admitted he may leave the club following their relegation from the Premier League.
The 25-year-old moved to Loftus Road from Real Madrid in August and has made 18 league appearances as Harry Redknapp's men failed to retain their top-flight status.
With the prospect of a campaign in the English Championship now looming, the Spaniard says he will need to discuss his future.
"Will I stay at QPR? Again it will be a summer of little stability. We will have to wait for the season to end and to talk to the club. We will see what is best for everyone," he told As.
