Rummenigge calls for respect before UEFA Champions League final
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has called for "mutual respect” between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund before the UEFA Champions League final.
The German giants have a fierce rivalry that has intensified in recent years as they do battle at the top of the Bundesliga, and relations soured further last month when it emerged that Dortmund star Mario Goetze will join the Allianz Arena outfit in the close-season.
However, Bayern chief executive Rummenigge has insisted that the clubs should focus on the pride involved in playing in the first-ever all-German UEFA Champions League final at Wembley on May 25.
"After 12 years, there will definitely be a German champion,” said Rummenig

Laudrup sets his sights on eighth place
Michael Laudrup believes Swansea can win their own 'mini-league' by beating Fulham on the final day of the season.
Laudrup’s side lost 2-1 against Manchester United on Sunday during an emotional day at Old Trafford that saw the Premier League champions snatch victory late on in Alex Ferguson’s last home game as manager before he retires.
Michu cancelled out Javier Hernandez's opener before Rio Ferdinand lashed home a winner five minutes from time.
But Laudrup admits the game should perhaps have been over by half-time, such was United’s dominance.
"I thought we were excellent second half

I´m going to change everything at Sunderland
Paolo Di Canio has vowed to change Sunderland's mentality after edging closer to Premier League safety with a point against Southampton.
Jason Puncheon came off the bench to cancel out Phil Bardsley's second-half strike in Sunday’s 1-1 draw that boosted both team’s chances of beating the drop.
Sunderland manager Di Canio insisted that it was a good result for his side's survival hopes given the difficult circumstances.
"It's a small, and an important step," said the Italian.
"We have to be honest we didn't deserve to stay up (1-0) because Southampton played better football than us.

Jol laments frustrating decisions
Fulham boss Martin Jol has bemoaned the decisions that went against his side during Sunday's 3-1 defeat to Liverpool.
Daniel Sturridge netted a hat-trick as Brendan Rodgers' men came from a goal down to earn a convincing win at Craven Cottage.
But Jol has cited a Lucas Leiva handball in the box and a poor Glen Johnson tackle on Eyong Enoh as moments which could have turned the match.
"The frustrating thing was that we should have had a couple of decisions for us and that didn't happen," he said.
"Just before they scored I think it was a penalty kick, we should have had a corner-kick, maybe a red ca

Atletico Madrid 1:2 Barcelona
La Liga champions Barcelona came from behind with 10 men to beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 at the Vicente Calderon on Sunday.
Real Madrid handed Barcelona their 22nd title and fourth in five seasons after they were held to 1-1 draw at Espanyol on Saturday.
On a night of celebration, Barca were in a jubilant mood - and despite falling behind to a Radamel Falcao strike and losing Lionel Messi to injury, the visitors hit back courtesy of Alexis Sanchez and an own goal from Gabi to steal three points.
The Catalan side were welcomed onto the pitch with a guard of honour from the hosts, who secured third spot after a 3-1 win at Celta Vigo on Wednesday.

Manchester United 2:1 Swansea
Rio Ferdinand's late winner ensured Alex Ferguson's final match in charge at Old Trafford ended in victory for Manchester United.
The Premier League champions put in an impressive display in the first half and led thanks to Javier Hernandez, but Swansea were immensely improved after half-time and a Michu strike looked to have secured a point for the visitors, only for Ferdinand to hit an 87th-minute winner.
Given United's record under Ferguson of scoring late goals that decide crucial games, it was a fitting way for the Scot to bow out on home soil.
Ferguson's side included seven changes to the team that lost 1-0 to Chelsea last weekend as Paul Scholes started his f

Norwich 4:0 West Brom
Norwich secured Premier League football for 2013-14 with a 4-0 win over West Brom at Carrow Road on Sunday.
Goals from Robert Snodgrass, Grant Holt and Jonny Howson, as well as a Gareth McAuley own goal, were enough for the home side as they won only their third game in 2013 and ended a run of two straight defeats.
After Aston Villa's 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday, Norwich are now one point ahead of Villa and six ahead of Wigan, with the latter having two games left to play.
But with those two sides meeting in the final game of the season next Sunday, only one is able to reach the 41-point mark Norwich already have.
