Poyet unsure on Brighton future
Brighton manager Gus Poyet believes he may have taken the club as far as he can after defeat in the Championship play-off semi-finals.
Wilfried Zaha scored two second half goals as Crystal Palace secured a place at Wembley with a 2-0 aggregate victory over Poyet's side.

And the Uruguayan will hold talks with owner Tony Bloom about the direction of the club before making any decisions on his future.

"I've not been in this situation but I don't like it," Poyet said.

"It's changed my view completely about everything I was prepared for, so we'll see now.

Tests were undertaken on Tuesday, and confirmed a strain in the Argentine's right leg. He could miss the rest of the season depending on how long it takes him to recover.

Messi limped off in the second-half of Barcelona's 2-1 victory over Atletico Madrid on Sunday after suffering a recurrence of the injury that has dogged him in recent weeks.

The Argentina international first suffered the problem in the first-leg of Barcelona's UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes.

And, speaking at the club's official victory parade, the Scot, who is set to retire at the end of the campaign, challenged his players to repeat that feat next year.

"This is fantastic, I'm more pleased for you than anything else. To go through a 38-week programme of premier division and win ... Read more »

premier league
Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has urged his fellow Denmark international Christian Eriksen to join the Merseyside club.
The 21-year-old has been strongly linked with a move away from the Amsterdam Arena, with Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund touted as potential suitors.

And, having captained the playmaker at international level, Agger believes Eriksen would fit perfectly with Brendan Rodgers' passing philosophy.

"We want to play attacking football with the ball on the ground and that is exactly what Christian Eriksen is all about. That is the kind of player we need," he told Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten.
"It all depends on which ... Read more »
