New Napoli boss Rafael Benitez has thanked the staff, players and fans of former club Chelsea.
Benitez did not enjoy the best of welcomes at Stamford Bridge after being hired in November 2012, but secured UEFA Champions League qualification as well as winning the UEFA Europa League.
The Spaniard's appointment at Napoli was confirmed on Monday night by chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis and he also took the opportunity to thank his former squad.
Via his personal blog, Benitez said: "I want to thank every single member of my staff at Chelsea FC.
"They have all contributed to make possible what this football club has achieved this season, we went far in every competition that we played in, we have virtually qualified the team for next season UEFA Champions League and we have won the UEFA Europa League.
"I also like to especially thank all of those who never appear in photographs but who offer indispensable support to us who are in the front line.
"Of course, I want to give special thanks to our players - who are the main characters of this story and who with their commitment and effort have made us feel that the job has been done throughout an intense season with an extremely busy calendar.
"Thanks as well to all those friends, professional colleagues, Chelsea FC fans and football fans in general that with their constant messages of support given through this website, different media or in person have encouraged us to carry on with our daily work."
