Foster happy with eighth-placed finish

West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster is pleased with the club's eighth-placed finish this season.
Steve Clarke's side amassed a club top-flight record 49 points despite a poor run of form towards the end of the campaign and Foster told the club's official website that it represents a job well done.

"It's really nice to finish eighth, I'm happy with that," said Foster, who made 31 Premier League appearances this season.

"The gaffer told us after the game that it is the club's best season since the 1980-81 season.

"We should all be very proud of what we've achieved. We've been in the top half all season."

Their eighth-placed finish was not confirmed until the last game of the campaign and Foster wants he and his team-mates to go, quite literally, one better next season.

"We've got 49 points and that's great for a club of our stature. We want to get to that 50-point barrier next season.

"We could have got it this year but it wasn’t to be."

Foster is in the England squad for the upcoming friendlies against the Republic of Ireland and Brazil.
