Chicago Fire 1:4 Chivas USA

chicago, chivas
The Chicago Fire's dismal start to the MLS season continued on Sunday as they suffered a 4-1 loss at home to Chivas USA.
Chivas struck early at Toyota Park, with Mexican midfielder Edgar Mejia scoring in the seventh minute.

They maintained that buffer beyond the hour mark, before there was some joy for the home side as Ghanaian striker Patrick Nyarko equalised on 64 minutes.

Unfortunately for the Fire, they suffered a late collapse - conceding three times in 15 minutes to slump to defeat.

Mexican defender Joaquin Velazquez made the most of his red card picked up against LA Galaxy last time out being rescinded, as he fired Chivas to the lead on 73 minutes.

Juan Agudelo then made it 3-1 two minutes later, before a Jalil Anibaba own goal topped off a disastrous finish for Frank Klopas' men.

The Fire have just one point to show from their first four fixtures and sit bottom of the Eastern Conference, while Chivas climbed to third in the West - two points behind leaders Dallas.
