Krul could face lengthy spell out
Newcastle United have confirmed that Tim Krul will see a specialist on Monday after injuring his ankle, and could face five weeks out.
The Netherlands international picked up the ankle injury in Thursday's Europa League last-32 second-leg victory over Metalist Kharkiv, but was able to complete 90 minutes.
Krul was initially assessed by the club's medical staff on Friday and subsequently sent for a scan, but has now been referred to a specialist - raising fears of a lengthy spell out.
The shot-stopper will miss Sunday's Premier League game at home to Southampton, with Rob Elliot set to step in for the 24-year old.
A club statement read: "Newcastle United can confirm that Tim Krul was assessed by club

Van Egmond takes positives from draw
Newcastle Jets coach Gary van Egmond does not believe Friday night's 0-0 draw with Brisbane will cost his side a place in the A-League finals.
Van Egmond said during the week it was important to win at home against the Roar to solidify Newcastle's place in the top six and put a gap on the chasing sides.
However the draw sees the Jets only move to equal fifth alongside Sydney FC on 27 points while the Roar and Melbourne Heart are still within striking distance on 25 and 24 points respectively with the rest of the round to play.
"We were at home and maximum points would have put us five points ahead of them and would have put us in a good position for a run into the finals," van Egmond said after the match.

Oeste are 14th, two points clear of the relegation zone in a congested bottom half of the table.
In the other match on Friday, Paulista defeated struggling Atletico Sorocaba 3-1 at home, thanks to three goals in the space of seven minutes shortly before half-time.

Liga Sagres: Estoril 3 Sporting Lisbon 1
Sporting Lisbon's nightmare season took another embarrassing turn on Friday, as they lost 3-1 away to local minnows Estoril.
While struggling to match Porto and cross-city rivals Benfica in recent seasons, Sporting have at least kept in touch with the top of the table, pushing for Champions League qualification and earning a regular berth in the Europa League.
However, they have slumped to a mid-table position in 2012/13, and show little signs of a mounting a revival, with Estoril, a team from the suburbs of Lisbon, the latest outfit to inflict defeat on Marco Silva's men.
Promoted from the second tier last season and with just one Portuguese Cup triumph to show for their 74-year history, Estoril would have been mere cannon fodd

Eredivisie: Willem II 2 NEC 3
NEC Nijmegen came from behind to see off struggling Willem II 3-2 in the Eredivisie on Friday.
Bottom side Willem II have won just twice this season but received an early boost when Robbie Haemhouts put them ahead with a goal in the first minute of the match.
Their luck soon run out though, as a Tim Cornelisse own-goal saw visitors NEC draw level.
Melvin Platje's brace in a nine-minute spell before half-time saw the away team go in 3-1 ahead at the break.
Aurelien Joachim gave Willem II renewed hope when he got one back just seven minutes into the second half.
But the home side proved unable to find an equaliser in the time remaining, and they remain rooted to the foot o

Ligue 1: Nice 2 Reims 0
Nice continue to mount an expected challenge for Champions League qualification following a 2-0 win over struggling Reims in Ligue 1.
Valentin Eysseric opened the scoring for hosts Nice from the penalty spot in the 11th minute of the match at the Stade Municipal du Ray on Friday.
The visitors battled hard to keep the score at 1-0 for much of the contest, but Renato Civelli made sure of all three points when he claimed Nice's second goal with five minutes remaining, Eric Bautheac providing the assist.
The win sees Nice close to within a point of third-placed Marseille, who tackle league leaders PSG on Sunday.
Reims meanwhile are in trouble at the wrong end of the table - they are just one point outside th

Bundesliga: Eintracht Frankfurt 0 Freiburg 0
Bundesliga high-flyers Eintracht Frankfurt and Freiburg could not be separated on Friday, playing out a 0-0 draw at Mage Solar Stadion.
Visitors Frankfurt looked to have opened the scoring as early as the 12th minute through Stefan Aigner, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.
Aigner found himself in the spotlight again early in the contest, heading wide from a good position before missing the target again on 16 minutes.
It took the hosts until close to the hour mark to threaten the Frankfurt goal, Jan Rosenthal and then Matthias Ginter forcing Stefano Celozzi to clear off the line in quick succession.
With 14 minutes remaining, Jonathan Schmid was played through on goal by Max Kruse,
