Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is adamant his side can still retain their Premier League title.

Trailing fierce rivals Manchester United by nine points with 13 games remaining, the chips are stacked in Sir Alex Ferguson's side's favour.

City visit Southampton on Saturday in their next league match after successive draws against QPR and Liverpool.

But Mancini said he will draw on the strength his side showed last season, when they overhauled an eight-point deficit with six games left to lift their first English championship in 44 years.

"In three months, everything can change - like last year," Mancini said.

Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez has refused to be drawn on whether midfielder Frank Lampard will be offered a new contract.

It had appeared Lampard would leave when his deal expired at the end of this season, with the club apparently unwilling to retain the 34-year-old midfielder.

But Chelsea's position has softened, with talks on an extension understood to have begun.

"Frank is doing a great job for us, he's scoring goals, he's playing well, he's a good professional and he's working very hard," Benitez said.

"But that's all I can say because I'm the coach. The club doesn't discuss the other issues. Hopefully he can break the Chelsea scoring record and I will be pleased."

Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez has admitted his current goal drought makes him feel 'nervous'.

The 24-year-old has failed to find the back of the net in any of his 14 Liga matches this season, and has just three strikes to his name in 26 appearances this term.

The Chile international said he is troubled by his struggles in front of goal, though he did point to his tally of five assists as proof he is contributing to the team.

"The fact that I can't score makes me nervous," he told Marca.com. "At any rate, the hard thing is to create chances, and this is something I'm doing."

Inter Milan are considering building a new stadium in San Donato as plans to quit San Siro gather pace.

Inter share the famous Giuseppe Meazza ground with city rivals AC Milan, although rumours they are seeking a new home have repeatedly surfaced in recent years.

Club president Massimo Moratti is believed to favour a plot of land in the San Donato district, currently owned by oil and gas giants Eni, as a potential site for a major new development which will feature shops and restaurants as well as a 60,000-seat stadium.

Matteo Sargenti, the councillor for sports in San Donato, said the plans remain in a draft stage at present, and that both the club and the local populace must be consulted before developments can begin.

Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi says he is prepared to quit the job despite leading the team to the Africa Cup of Nations final.

The coach came in for criticism for his locally-based selection policy and slow start in South Africa, but his decisions will be hailed as a master stroke if Nigeria beat Burkina Faso in the final on Sunday.

"It is my home country, and it feels great to see Nigeria advance to the final after such a long time," Keshi told Goal.com.

"I would love to continue with the job, but again, if it doesn't happen, I don't really care. I am a professional coach and I will pack my bags and leave."

Martin Kelly has signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool, the club have announced.

The versatile defender has made 54 appearances for Liverpool since making his first-team debut in 2009, although he has been out of action for much of the season after suffering an ACL knee injury in September.

The 22-year-old said his love for the club as a Liverpool supporter was the main drive behind his decision to extend his stay at Anfield.

"I'm delighted to have signed. It means everything to me and my family," Kelly told the club's official website. 

"I've been at Liverpool since I was seven, so it's in my heart and I love the club.
