Lewandowski pleased with Leverkusen spirit
Bayer Leverkusen coach Sascha Lewandowski praised his side for their improved commitment during their 2-1 win over Augsburg on Saturday.

Goals from Stefan Kiessling and Lars Bender helped Leverkusen end a run of four matches without a win in all competitions.

Augsburg had been unbeaten in the league this year before the loss, and Lewandowski hailed his side's improved display.

"The fact that Augsburg had not lost a single game since the resumption in fixtures in January was no coincidence," Lewandowski said.

"Against Mainz and against Schalke they were definitely the better team. Today, what was positive for us was that we played with full commitment at both ends of the pitch, and we had missed that recently.< ... Read more »

Conte: We didn´t play like a team
conte
Juventus coach Antonio Conte has slammed his team's performance during Saturday's 1-0 defeat at the hands of Roma.

A Francesco Totti strike saw the capital club past Juventus at the Stadio Olimpico, and Conte admitted that his side did not perform at the necessary level.

"Fatigue is normal, but if we don't play like a team, we won't go anywhere," he told reporters after the match. "I won't mention individuals, but I didn't like the team or anyone out there tonight.

"Everyone went their own way and it was really disappointing. We have regrets that we did not have an extra day to prepare and recover our physical levels.

"If I had picked other players and we lost, then I'd be blamed as well. [Kw ... Read more »

Granada 1-2 Barcelona: Magical Messi bails out Blaugrana
granada, barcelonaThe Argentine incredibly racked up his 300th and 301st goals for the Catalan club to lead the Blaugrana to a come-from-behind triumph in a tricky fixture in Andalusia.
Lionel Messi scored his 300th and 301st career goals for Barcelona, who were forced to dig deep to overcome Granada 2-1 in their Liga clash at Los Carmenes on Saturday.

The Argentine's match-winning double also extended his scoring streak to 14 consecutive games, but it was far from an easy outing against the Andalusian club, who deservedly opened the scoring through Ighalo to end the first half with the lead.

Barca hit back in a dominant second half, as Messi turned home a rebound five minutes after the restart, before clinching the win with a free-kick in the 73rd minute to provisionally extend the Blaugrana ... Read more »
