Di Canio resigns as Swindon manager
Paolo Di Canio has resigned as the manager of Swindon Town after just under two years in charge.
The Italian, who led his side to the League Two title last campaign, had previously hit out at the club's hierarchy for selling star midfielder Matt Ritchie behind his back and the former striker has now left the club after a deal for those owners to be ousted stalled.
A statement from Di Canio read: "Last Tuesday, 12th February, I formally confirmed my resignation as manager of Swindon Town Football Club with immediate effect.
"As I had previously stated, there have been a number of broken promises made by the club over the time that I have been Manager of Swindon Town.

Gallas vows to attack Lyon
Tottenham defender William Gallas insists his side will not travel to face Lyon at the Stade de Gerland simply hoping for a 0-0 draw.
Spurs go into their Europa League last-32 second-leg meeting with the French side holding a 2-1 lead courtesy of a Gareth Bale-inspired victory at White Hart Lane.
And although keeping a clean sheet would prove sufficient for the north London club to progress, Gallas says scoring will be his side's priority.
"If we put them under pressure straight away they will be wary because if they concede a goal, they will be in trouble," he told reporters.
"We don't have to try to come back to London with a 0-0 scoreline. We have to play our game, the way we play all the time

Hamsik shaken after robbery
Napoli playmaker Marek Hamsik was robbed at gunpoint by two men while driving to the airport after his side's 0-0 with Sampdoria on Sunday.
The 25-year-old Slovakian had the windows of his car crashed by two armed assailants, and was forced into giving up his Rolex watch, but escaped unharmed.
"I'm really unhappy about what happened after the match. It's the third time that it's happened to me since I've been here," he told his club's official website.
"I'm really sorry that these kind of things happen but unfortunately it is one of the hardships of living in Napoli."
Other Napoli players such as Edinson Cavani, Valon Behrami and Ezequiel Lavezzi have all fallen victim to crime in the city in recent year

Grayson appointed Preston manager
League One side Preston North End have confirmed the appointment of Simon Grayson as the club's new manager.
Grayson was sacked by Huddersfield Town in January, despite having overseen their promotion to the Championship last season via the League One playoffs.
But he is now back in the English third tier having been chosen to replace Graham Westley at North End with the club currently 17th, eight points clear of relegation.
Grayson will be joined at the club by coach Glynn Snodin, who has previously worked alongside him during his time at both Leeds and Huddersfield.
Caretaker manager John Dryer, who took over temporarily following Westley's departure last week, will remain with the club.

Zanetti surprised by Balotelli switch
Inter captain Javier Zanetti has admitted that he was surprised to see former team-mate Mario Balotelli join cross-city rivals AC Milan.
The 22-year-old completed a move back to Italy from Manchester City in January, and will go head to head with the veteran Argentine in next week's Derby della Madonnina.
"I didn't expect Balotelli to join Milan," the 39-year-old told reporters.
"He's a great player, but hopefully, we'll play a great defensive game against him and his team-mates."
The Italy international has scored four goals in his three appearances since joining the Rossoneri last month.

Mascherano cautious ahead of ´tricky´ tie
Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano believes Champions League opponents AC Milan should be viewed as one of Europe's biggest clubs.
The Spanish giants will meet Milan in the last 16 of Europe's premier club competition, with the first leg to be held at the San Siro on Wednesday.
Mascherano said Milan should not be underestimated despite losing a host of key players in recent years.
"Milan have broken away from players like Thiago Silva, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, (Alessandro) Nesta and (Clarence) Seedorf," he said.
"(But) the AC Milan is the AC Milan that remains, and continues having a long tradition in the competition and must be respected.

Lahm wary of Arsenal threat
Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm has warned his team-mates that Arsenal are a dangerous opponent, despite their recent loss to Blackburn.
The right-back thinks Arsene Wenger's troops will take an attacking approach, and feels his colleagues will have to be wary of a backlash.
"Arsenal are dangerous, especially in attack as I believe they have problems defensively. They have very good players and we will have to be on our toes," the 29-year-old told reporters.
Meanwhile, Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes has told his troops not to become complacent when up against the Gunners, despite their tag as favourites.
"Arsenal have found their rhythm again in the last couple of weeks. They are an excellent team and pla
