Didier Drogba says Galatasaray were 'lucky' to return to Istanbul with a point following Saturday's Super Lig stalemate at Eskisehirspor.

The Turkish champions extended their unbeaten run to eight matches thanks to their 0-0 draw at the Ataturk Stadium, but the former Chelsea forward conceded the side were fortunate to have escaped Anatolia unscathed.

"It was a tough game, we played a good team. We were lucky to go home with a point," Drogba told Lig TV.

"We must now spend the next 2-3 days analysing our performance. Yesterday (Saturday), we encountered some difficulties in entering the final third."

Jupp Heynckes praised the hard work and commitment of his players after Bayern Munich battled to a 1-0 win at Hoffenheim on Sunday.

A lone first-half strike from Mario Gomez was enough to earn the Bundesliga leaders all three points against a spirited home side, and Heynckes was thrilled to secure the win despite his side being far from their brilliant best.

"The game today was very difficult," he was quoted as saying by the club's official website. 

"The opponent is in trouble. They have played incredibly courageously, aggressively. That was a workmanlike victory - it was not brilliant, it was not glamorous, but in return you get three points."

Tottenham defeated Arsenal 2-1 in the English Premier League on Sunday to move seven points clear of their north London rivals.

First-half goals from Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon were enough to take Spurs back above Chelsea and into third place in the standings.

Per Mertesacker pulled one back for the visitors in the 51st minute at White Hart Lane but, despite a glut of late chances for both sides, a fiercely contested and entertaining encounter finished in favour of Andre Villas-Boas' in-form team.

Tottenham's fourth consecutive Premier League win has lifted them to within two points of second-placed Manchester City, who travel to Aston Villa on Monday night.

David Beckham insists Paris Saint-Germain did not take Reims lightly after their 1-0 Ligue 1 loss on Saturday.

Real Madrid star Mesut Oezil says there are no problems between him and head coach Jose Mourinho.

Patrice Evra believes Manchester United can use Cristiano Ronaldo's love for the club to their advantage in their Champions League tie.

The Portuguese forward has been a revelation for Real since his 93.9 million-euro move to the Bernabeu in 2009, scoring an incredible 136 goals in just 126 games and leading the club to the Spanish title last season.

The first leg of the round-of-16 tie ended 1-1 in Madrid, with the 28-year-old scoring, and Evra feels United must use the emotional occasion to their benefit to keep the former Old Trafford favourite from wrecking their hopes of a treble-winning season.

"It is difficult when you play with love," the Frenchman told MUTV. 

Borussia Dortmund general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke believes there is a good chance of Robert Lewandowski seeing out his contract.

Dortmund confirmed this week that the striker, who has scored 16 league goals so far this season, would not be signing a new deal at the club, with his existing contract expiring at the end of next season.

However, Watzke claimed this did not mean the Pole's exit is imminent or that the club are eager to sell him.

"I assume that Lewandowski will stay at Borussia Dortmund beyond this season," the 53-year-old German told German channel Sport 1.
