Premier League: Sunderland - Norwich
premier leagueWith their six-game winless streak seeing them increasingly flirt with the drop, the Black Cats are in need of a result against a Canaries side on the verge of sealing survival
Martin O’Neill will be desperate to return to winnings ways after his side’s dismal 2-1 defeat to basement-dwellers QPR on Saturday extended Sunderland’s winless streak to six games.

The return of Tottenham loanee Danny Rose (hamstring) will no doubt provide Sunderland with a significant boost, particularly if the left-back can recapture the glittering form he displayed earlier in the season.

Wenger proud of Arsenal
wenger
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was delighted after his side won 2-0 at Swansea City in the English Premier League on Saturday.
The win, which came thanks to second-half goals from Nacho Monreal and Gervinho, keeps the club's chances of finishing fourth alive.

And Wenger was proud of his players, who backed up from a 2-0 win over Bayern Munich in midweek – they still lost the Champions League round-of-16 tie on away goals – with another triumph on the road.

"We knew on the fixtures that this was one of the difficult games we had still to play," Wenger told Sky Sports.

Manchester United 1:0 Reading
rooney
Manchester United extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to 15 points after a 1-0 win over Reading at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Wayne Rooney opened the scoring with 20 minutes gone but United failed to kick-on in a less-than-entertaining first period.

And the below-par display continued after the break, with both sides failing to threaten, meaning Sir Alex Ferguson's men took full advantage of Manchester City's loss to Everton while their manager-less opponents remain in deep trouble at the bottom.

Rooney, Robin Van Persie and Danny Welbeck all started for the hosts in an attac ... Read more »

Stoke City kept their first home clean sheet since November as they played out a 0-0 draw with West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

A point for Stoke has seen them climb up to 10th on goal difference, but they are locked with four other teams on 33 points.

West Brom stay eighth in the English Premier League, a point behind seventh-placed Liverpool.

A late goal from Christian Benteke secured a vital three points for Aston Villa in a thrilling relegation clash with QPR.
QPR were in charge for most of the first half and made their dominance count when Jermaine Jenas poked the away side into the lead after 22 minutes.

But a late header against the run of play from Gabriel Agbonlahor in the final moments of the first half made the scores level, and Villa went ahead 14 minutes into the second half through Andreas Weimann.

QPR, given new life after Adel Taarabt came on after 66 minutes, fought their way back and Andros Townsend equalised with 15 minutes left.
