Blackburn sack Appleton Blackburn have sacked manager Michael Appleton after just 67 days in charge.
The 37-year-old joined from Blackpool after a similarly short-lived spell at Bloomfield Road.
Appleton only replaced Hennig Berg in the Ewood Park hotseat on January 12 but has been dismissed following a poor run of results.
Despite knocking Arsenal out of the FA Cup earlier this season, Rovers have only won four of their past 15 games.

Cahill out of San Marino game Chelsea centre-back Cahill was assessed by England medical staff on Monday, having sustained a knee injury during Chelsea's victory over West Ham on Sunday.

Owen announces retirement Stoke City striker Michael Owen has announced he will end his playing career at the end of the season.
The former England striker has struggled to make an impact for Tony Pulis' side in the Premier League this season scoring just the one goal during a handful of first-team appearances.

Rio did the right thing Jamie Redknapp believes Rio Ferdinand did the right thing by pulling out of Roy Hodgson's England squad.
The former Tottenham and Liverpool midfielder said Ferdinand should not join the squad if he is not capable of training.
Redknapp revealed how he picked up a number of injuries during his international career and felt no-one from the England setup cared about him once he was injured.

Sigurdsson: We never got going Gylfi Sigurdsson admits Tottenham 'just never got going' in their 1-0 Premier League defeat to Fulham on Sunday.
