Weidenfeller extends Dortmund deal
Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller has signed a new deal at Borussia Dortmund to keep him at the club until 2016.
Weidenfeller has made nearly 300 appearances for Dortmund in an 11-year spell with the club and has been a key figure in their charge to the UEFA Champions League final this season.
Juergen Klopp's men face Bayern Munich in the final at Wembley on May 25 and Weidenfeller had no hesitation in signing a new deal with a club which has undergone a rapid transformation in recent times.
"Transferring to another club had never crossed my mind," said Weidenfeller.

Hoeness to stay at Bayern
Uli Hoeness will continue in his role as Bayern Munich president despite being under investigation for suspected tax evasion.
The Bundesliga club announced their intention to retain the ex-West Germany international's services in a statement released on their website on Monday.
The domestic champions and UEFA Champions League finalists said the situation would be monitored but did not accept Hoeness' offer to step down.
"The supervisory board of Bayern Munich has had a meeting to look at the tax case concerning president Hoeness," the club's statement said.

Ancelotti cool over Real Madrid speculation
Paris Saint-Germain manager Carlo Ancelotti has stressed he has not received any approach from Spanish side Real Madrid.
The Italian is reportedly set to leave the Parc Des Princes at the end of the season and has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu, where Jose Mourinho is widely expected to leave following a largely unsuccessful campaign.
However, Ancelotti refused to be drawn on the speculation and insisted Madrid have yet to make an offer for his services.
"I don't have to say yes or no (to the Real Madrid coaching job) because I haven't received any proposal," he said.
"I've still got one year on my contract with PSG and, as I said, we decided

Fernandinho keen on Manchester City move
Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fernandinho has revealed he is keen to join Manchester City in order to improve his international prospects.
The 28-year-old has won five Ukrainian Premier League titles and three Ukrainian Cups since joining Shakhtar in 2005 but has earned just five Brazil caps during that time.
And he believes that a move to England with City could help increase his chances of receiving a call from Luiz Felipe Scolari.
"I believe my chances of making the World Cup squad will improve if I join City," he said.
"My exposure would be better, because Brazil is biased towards the Ukrainian league.

Brek not ready, says Pulis
Stoke boss Tony Pulis has revealed that January signing Brek Shea is unlikely to make his full debut for the club this season.
The winger arrived from FC Dallas for £2.5 million during the mid-season transfer window but has made just two substitute appearances in the Premier League since.
And Pulis has explained that the USA international is still some way short of full fitness, meaning he will not be thrown in at the deep end in the remaining games.
"Brek hasn't been anywhere near it," he said.
"We've looked at Brek and he's a smashing lad but fitness wise he came to the club when he'd just got over an injury, he'd been out for months.

Dortmund receive 500,000 Wembley ticket requests
Borussia Dortmund have received over 500,000 applications for tickets to their UEFA Champions League final meeting with Bayern Munich.
Jurgen Klopp's side reached the Wembley showpiece courtesy of a 4-3 aggregate win over Real Madrid and will meet their Bundesliga rivals there after they easily dispatched Barcelona over two legs in the semi-finals.
But, having received an allocation of just 24,000 tickets per team, Dortmund will be unable to satisfy even one 10th of the demand.
"We've followed how much sympathy people have towards us with great excitement," marketing director Carsten Cramer told the club's official website.

Southampton win is massive
Tottenham winger Gareth Bale has described his side's win over Southampton on Saturday as "massive" in the battle for a top-four finish.
The 23-year-old struck a late winner against his boyhood club to move Spurs within two points of fourth-placed Arsenal having played a game less than their rivals.
After the game, Bale expressed delight at having earned three points in order to prolong Tottenham's bid for UEFA Champions League qualification.
"It was a tough game," he said. "They played well in the first half especially and made it difficult for us.
"The team worked so hard and as I said, I was luc
