Scheduling sparks Rodgers anger
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has blasted the Premier League for their handling of his side's fixture with Swansea City on Sunday.
Swansea's participation in the League Cup final on Sunday week against Bradford City clashed with the initial date for the fixture and the game has been brought forward as a result.
However, Rodgers, who has seen his side take on both West Brom and Zenit St Petersburg in the space of four days, feels that a third fixture within a week is too much for his players.
"I was very disappointed with the Premier League to be honest," the Reds boss told reporters.
"To put it in on a week when we have played on a Monday and played on a Thursday in an away trip to Russia, and put

Seedorf: 'Unfair' to compare Neymar to Messi, Ronaldo
The Netherlands veteran feels there is too much pressure placed on the Brazil starlet, though he is confident he could "put on a show" if he moves to Europe.
Botafogo midfielder Clarence Seedorf says it is "unfair" to compare Neymar to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Santos attacker's sparkling performances over the last couple of years have led many to hold him in as high a regard as the Barcelona and Real Madrid icons, but Seedorf feels it is premature to place so much on the Brazil international's young shoulders.
"He is very young, the responsibility for the national team doesn't have to be his alone," Seedorf told reporters in Brazil. "There must be other people to take over that.
"It's unfair to compare him to Cristiano Ronaldo and Mes

Bentley rejoins Blackburn on loan from Tottenham
The Spurs winger has re-joined Blackburn on loan until the end of the season, becoming Rovers' second signing of the day following Karim Rekik's arrival from Manchester City.
Blackburn Rovers manager Michael Appleton has brought former Ewood Park favorite David Bentley back to the club on a loan deal from Tottenham Hotspur.
The 28-year-old winger has been on loan to Russian Premier League side FC Rostov during the first half of the season, but he has now returned to the club who sold him for a fee of 17 million pounds back in 2008.
The former England international, who was once touted as a possible replacement for David Beckham on the right-hand side of midfield, has seen his career take a downwards spiral since moving on from the Lancashire club.
