Cheslsea 2:0 West Ham
Frank Lampard's 200th goal for Chelsea set them on their way to a 2-0 home win over West Ham to boost their Champions League hopes.
Lampard is now two goals behind Bobby Tambling’s all time club record after reaching the landmark against his former side with a 19th minute header to put the Blues in front.

Eden Hazard capped a brilliant individual performance with Chelsea's second on 49 minutes as the Londoners took advantage of Tottenham's 1-0 defeat to Fulham to move up to third in the table.

The result leaves Chelsea in position for a strong finish to a turbulent season as they target a top four place, while they are also in the last eight of the FA Cup and the Europa League.< ... Read more »

Balotelli strikes twice for Milan
balotelli
Mario Balotelli continued his hot form with a double in AC Milan's 2-0 home win over Palermo in Sunday's Serie A action.
Balotelli has been a hit ever since signing for Milan from Manchester City in the January transfer window and his latest double means he has scored seven goals in just six games for his new club.

Palermo sit bottom of the table and entered the fixture without a win in 15 matches, meaning they were rank underdogs at the San Siro.

And they were behind after just eight minutes when Balotelli gave his side the early lead from the penalty spot.

Tottenham 0:1 Fulham
Dimitar Berbatov's second-half goal against his former club was enough to give Fulham a 1-0 win at Tottenham on Sunday.
After a first half with few chances, Berbatov finally opened the scoring just after the interval following a swift counter-attack from the away side.

Tottenham failed to truly respond to their former striker's goal, with the best opportunities falling to substitute Jermain Defoe, who could not capitalise as Mark Schwarzer produced a couple of excellent saves to deny the Englishman.

It extended Tottenham's losing run in all competitions to three matches, while Fulham jumped to 10th in the English Premier League with the win.

As the thrilling title race in the Netherlands continues, Ajax sit a point clear of PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord, who were 2-1 winners over Utrecht.

At the AFAS Stadion in Alkmaar, a Siem de Jong brace led Ajax to their win against lowly AZ.

De Jong put Frank de Boer's side ahead in the 20th minute, clinically finishing past Esteban Alvarado after a long pass from Toby Alderweireld.

Schalke general manager Horst Heldt has branded the team 'a circus' after they were beaten 3-0 by Nuremberg on Saturday.
Goals from Markus Feulner, Alexander Esswein and Mike Frantz condemned Jens Keller's side to a crushing defeat which leaves them six points adrift of third-placed Bayer Leverkusen.

Heldt pulled no punches in his assessment of the performance.

"We played in the first half as if we were in the circus," he told Sky Deutschland. "When you have 400 percent of chances, then you just have to score."

Schweinsteiger lauds set-piece masterstroke
schweinsteiger
Bayern Munich star Bastian Schweinsteiger feels his team's focus on set-pieces was key to their 2-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.
Simon Rolfes looked to have salvaged a point for Leverkusen when he equalised following Mario Gomez's first-half strike.

But the runaway Bundesliga leaders left with three points when Philipp Wollscheid turned Schweinsteiger's free-kick into his own net three minutes from time.

The Germany international was thrilled to have sealed the win against their determined hosts, but insisted the winning goal was down to coach Jupp Heynckes' dead-ball tacti ... Read more »
