PSV Eindhoven saw their lead atop the Eredivisie cut to two points after they suffered a 2-1 loss at Feyenoord on Sunday.
It could have been worse for Dick Advocaat's men, but Ajax were held to a 1-1 draw at home to ADO Den Haag.

PSV took a 34th-minute lead at De Kuip in Rotterdam after a sloppy turnover in midfield by the hosts.
It led to Tim Matavz being released and he unselfishly squared a pass for Jeremain Lens, who tapped into an empty net.
Feyenoord equalised just two minutes into the second half through Schaken.
The attacker got on the end of a Jordy Clasie pass, used his strength to hold off Marcelo before finishing past Boy Waterman.
The hosts found their winner in the 68th minute through Pelle as the Italian netted his 18th league goal of the season, finding space before curling a 20-yard effort into the bottom corner.
In Amsterdam, Ajax needed a late equaliser from Lasse Schone to draw 1-1 at home to ADO Den Haag.
Tjaronn Chery put the visitors ahead on the half-hour mark but Schone rescued a point for the hosts with his goal five minutes from time.
Utrecht returned to winning ways with a 4-0 thrashing of 10-man Roda JC at Stadion Galgenwaard.
A Jacob Mulenga brace and goals from Tommy Oar and Jan Wuytens saw Utrecht bounce back after consecutive losses, while relegation-threatened Roda had Abel Tamata sent off on 18 minutes.
NAC Breda moved five points clear of the relegation playoff spots with a 1-0 win at AZ Alkmaar, Nemanja Gudelj's sixth-minute effort proving the difference between the sides.
