Morata concentrating on Deportivo

Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata is wary of the threat a desperate Deportivo La Coruna will pose his side on Saturday.

Fernando Vazquez was appointed Deportivo's third coach of the campaign on February 11, with his side sitting bottom of La Liga.

They are eight points from safety with 14 matches remaining this season, and Morata said his side, who he insisted were focused on the task, needed to be careful.

"We know it is going to be a tough game because every team tries to do their best against Real Madrid," Morata said.

"Besides, they have a new coach and the players always want to fight for their place in the team.

"I am sure they will do their best to escape from the situation they are in and I think they have the team to do this."

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has conceded the title race is over with Barcelona 16 points clear of his third-placed team.

Mourinho's men have huge encounters against Barca – in the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg – and a Champions League clash with Manchester United in the next month.

But Morata, 20, said the focus for Real was on Deportivo.

"Firstly, we have an important game tomorrow against Deportivo and after we will have two vital matches that will determine the direction of the season," he said.

"When we play them we will see but we are conscious we are able to beat them."

Real Madrid drew 1-1 at home to Barcelona in the first leg of their tie, while it was the same score-line in their clash against United at the Santiago Bernabeu.
