Fulham can finish strongly, says Duff

Fulham midfielder Damien Duff is hoping the club can stick with tradition and finish the Premier League season strongly.
The Cottagers have struggled for consistency this term; with a blistering start of just three losses in their opening 11 fixtures was undermined by just three wins from the following 15 league outings.

And Duff is keen to call on momentum from previous campaigns and finish the term in as respective a position as possible.

"We got off to a great start but then had that mid-season where we struggled to pick up points, which was very disappointing," he told the club's official website.

"Over the past couple of years we've usually started slow and finished strong.

"There are 12 games left, I think, so we'll be looking to put in a similar finish to what we've done in previous seasons. It has been disappointing but we're looking to put it right."

Fulham sit 12th in the table with 29 points, six above the relegation zone, and Duff is eager for his team-mates to build on their recent 0-0 draw away against Norwich at Carrow Road.

"You can always take positives," Duff added.

"Norwich was a clean sheet and I can't remember the last time we had a clean sheet.

"It's a tough place to go, to be fair. They've beaten Manchester United and a few other teams this season there, even Arsenal if my memory serves me correctly. So it's a tough place to go and we were happy with the point coming away from there.

"Any game, home or away, you're looking to get three points. I like to think over the past few years – especially since I've been here anyway – I've always thought of Craven Cottage as a fortress. It's a special place and we'll be looking to get three points against Stoke there."
