Champions League : Barcelona - Bayern Munich
champions league
Barcelona will be looking to restore their battered pride when they face a ruthless Bayern Munich at the Camp Nou on Wednesday.
Never in their golden era have the Spanish giants been so comprehensively outplayed as they were in last Tuesday's Champions League semi-final first leg.

Jupp Heynckes' side dished out the sort of lesson Barcelona have inflicted on a host of Europe's elite for the better part of five years, with Thomas Mueller scoring twice either side of Mario Gomez and Arjen Robben strikes.

A rescue job against one of, if not the most, formidable side in Europe looks out of the question but at the very least Barcelona must make amends for that defeat.< ... Read more »

Champions League: Real Madrid - Borussia Dortmund
champions league
Real Madrid winger Angel di Maria believes Saturday's triumph over Atletico can serve as a springboard in their Champions League semi-final.
Madrid were humbled 4-1 by Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their semi-final tie, with prolific marksman Robert Lewandowski scoring all four goals in a memorable performance.

Jose Mourinho's side returned to winning ways at the weekend, edging city rivals Atletico 2-1 in their battle for second position in La Liga.

And di Maria, who netted the match-winning goal, believes the derby win can be the catalyst for redemption against Dortmund at the Bernabeu on Tuesday.

Mikel Arteta has urged Arsenal to be ruthless as they battle to secure UEFA Champions League qualification.
A 1-1 draw with champions Manchester United on Sunday left Arsenal in fourth place, two points clear of Tottenham who have a game in hand.

And Arteta believes Arsenal can have a positive end to a largely frustrating season by beating relegated QPR on Saturday and extending their unbeaten league run to eight games.

"It will be about who is the most clinical at the right moments," Arteta said.

"When it gets to the last games, the teams who are the most clinical win the games - we have seen that ove ... Read more »

champions leagueReal Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has stressed that his future does not hinge on their UEFA Champions League semi-final with Borussia Dortmund.
The Spanish giants go into the second leg at the Bernabeu
4-1 down after a calamitous defeat at the Westfalenstadion.
Madrid sit 11 points behind Barcelona in La Liga with
five games to play, meaning elimination on Tuesday would leave the Copa del Rey
as their only realistic chance of silverware this season.
That would almost certainly be seen as a failure onMourinho's part, but the Portuguese insists that the clash with Dortmund will
not determine whether he stays in the Spanis ... Read more »

Coutinho laid on two of his side's six goals at Newcastle at the weekend and Rodgers was delighted at the entire team's performance, but warned against putting too much faith into the 20-year-old too soon into his time at the club.

france flagTeam News
Sedan are a tad weaker without right wing-back Fabien Tchenkoua but showed they can cope without him by earning a creditable 1-1 draw at Le Havre last weekend. Coach Laurent Guyot is likely to name an unchanged side.

Monaco have been injury-free in recent weeks. Coach Claudio Ranieri may make tweaks following their 4-0 win over Clermont on Monday night if he feels the players are tired. There is particularly fierce competition in attack, where 16-goal leading scorer Ibrahima Toure and former St Etienne and Toulouse front man Emmanuel Riviere have had to settle for a place on the bench in the past two games.
