Former Arsenal star Marc Overmars says there is a distinct possibility he could take on a role with the club in the future.

The 39-year-old scored 41 goals in 142 appearances for the Gunners during a three-year spell which saw him lift the Premier League and FA Cup prior to a 25 million-pound move to Barcelona.

And the Dutchman, who currently serves as Ajax's technical director, said he would be open to returning to the English club, but ruled out going into management.

"When you get older as a player, you work out what your qualities are for the future. I was quite fast to realise being a manager was not my job," he told Standard Sport.

West Bromwich Albion could end the spell of a Chelsea manager for the third time in less than a year if they win at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

In the wake of Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez's press conference on Wednesday, where he slammed the club's board and fans, the 52-year-old Spaniard may not even make it to Saturday's game against West Brom.

But if Benitez does lead Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, a defeat to West Brom may be the last straw for Roman Abramovich, as it has been for Andre Villas-Boas and Roberto Di Matteo before him.

Villas-Boas was sacked on March 4 last year in the wake of a 1-0 defeat at The Hawthorns, which came thanks to Gareth McAuley's late goal for West Brom.

Manchester City will be fighting to keep their faint title hopes alive when they face relegation-threatened Aston Villa on Saturday.

City left the door ajar for an unlikely second consecutive Premier League championship by winning their first league match in four attempts at the weekend when they downed Chelsea 2-0 at Etihad Stadium.

Xabi Alonso has hailed Real Madrid team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo as the most ambitious player he has ever played with.

Ronaldo impressed in Real's 3-1 Copa del Rey win over Barcelona on Tuesday, netting twice to help his side into the final of the competition, and Alonso was effusive in his praise for the Portuguese star.

"He is the most ambitious player I have met, with the hunger and desire to score in every game. He is impressive in terms of his athletic qualities and his technical abilities," the midfielder told UEFA's official website.

"He is a complete player: he has a great shot; he knows how to put his opponent off balance in one-on-one situations; he’s great at finding space and he has great timing."

Manchester United will aim to tighten their grip on the 2012-13 Premier League title when they face Norwich at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The Red Devils are a runaway freight train at the top of the table and, with a 12-point lead 11 matches out from the end of the season, are in an almost indomitable position in their pursuit of a record 20th league crown.

Sagna missed Arsenal's 2-1 victory over Aston Villa on Saturday with a knee injury but reports in England claim the 30-year-old French right-back will be ready for his team's upcoming trip to White Hart Lane.

If Sagna plays he will be given one of the toughest tasks in the Premier League at the moment - mark Bale.

The 23-year-old Welsh speedster has scored nine goals in Tottenham's past seven games in all competitions and gave his team's Champions League hopes a significant boost over the weekend when he scored the winner in a 3-2 triumph over West Ham.
