pique
Gerard Pique says he would sign either Pepe, Sergio Ramos or Raphael Varane if he could bring one Real Madrid player to Barcelona.
Barca midfielder Sergio Busquets revealed recently that Ramos would be a good fit for the Camp Nou side, and Pique agrees with his team-mate, while also controversially mentioning Pepe as a welcome addition.

"Which Madrid player I would sign for Barcelona? One of Pepe, Ramos and Varane," Pique was quoted as saying by Marca.

"With all the injuries we have in defence, that's the area where we could do with reinforcement the most. And Iker (Casillas) of course." ... Read more »

The 34-year-old Manchester United defender was recalled by England manager Roy Hodgson for World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Montenegro but withdrew in order to follow a pre-planned fitness routine.

"Playing for your country, for me, was the ultimate but that seems to have changed a little bit," Shilton told reporters.

Rangers chief executive Charles Green has predicted that the Glaswegian side will be playing in English football within five years.
Scotland's most successful club are even prepared to start as low as the Conference and work their way up to the Premier League, with Green ready to go to court to make it happen.

Green also believes that the presence of the Old Firm in English football would be hugely beneficial to the game south of Scotland.

Lescott backs mature Rooney
lescot, rooney
England defender Joleon Lescott has warned Montenegro that they face a 'backlash' from Wayne Rooney in Tuesday's World Cup qualifier.
The Manchester United striker missed the opening two games of Euro 2012 after being sent off in England's last trip to Podgorica for aiming a petulant kick at Miodrag Dzudovic.

But Lescott believes the 27-year-old has matured since then, and has backed him to prove it at the City Stadium.

"The backlash could be just that - it could enhance his performance," Lescott told reporters.
