Former Newcastle midfielder Rob Lee has dubbed the club a "laughing stock" after Joe Kinnear was appointed as their director of football.
Kinnear, who spent a chunk of the unsuccessful 2008-09 campaign in charge of Newcastle before leaving the club after a health scare, returned to St James' Park last week in a shock move.

FIFA Confederations Cup : Nigeria - Spain
Spain go into their Confederations Cup clash against Nigeria knowing a point will be enough to see them through to the semi-finals.
But that is unlikely to have any impact on Vicente Del Bosque's world and European champions heading into the Group B encounter at the Estadio Castelao in Fortaleza.
Spain were last beaten in November 2011, when a Frank Lampard goal gave England a 1-0 win in a friendly at Wembley.

Isco decision imminent
Malaga midfielder Isco could decide his future by Sunday, amid rumours of a move to Real Madrid or Manchester City.
La Liga club Malaga have been hindered by financial problems, and are likely to cash-in on one of their prize assets during the transfer window, with both City and Real reported to have put forward offers for the playmaker.
The Spaniard's next move has been one of the major talking points of the close-season thus far, and he now looks set to determine where he will ply his trade next season.
"I prefer not to comment about my future, but the matter could be closed this Sunday," Isco said.
