Reid remains at West Brom after agreeing new deal

premier league
Defender Steven Reid has penned a new one-year deal at West Brom.
The 32-year-old, who joined from Blackburn in 2010, appeared set to leave the Hawthorns as talks over a new contract looked to have stalled. He took to Twitter last week to thank the club's fans, which sparked speculation he was poised to be released.

Reid and the West Brom hierarchy, though, have now resolved any issues and the former Republic of Ireland international is pleased to remain with the club, with Sky Sports reporting that he has agreed a 12-month extension.

"Delighted to be extending stay at WBA," he wrote on Twitter. "Roll on next season!"

Injuries restricted Reid to 11 Premier League appearances last season as West Brom finished eighth under the shrewd guidance of Steve Clarke.

Reid has made over 300 appearances at club level during a career that started at Millwall and also included a loan spell at QPR.
