IFK Norrkoping v AIK Stockholm – In the strongest Swedish football league this week on the schedule is the 11th round, and we have decided to analyse the match which will be played on Thursday night in which will meet two teams from the middle of the table, Norrkoping and AIK. The hosts ahead of the duel have one point more, but on the other hand guests from Stockholm have definitely a better team, which was best confirmed last season when in mutual matches won at home and draw away. Begins: 30.05.2013 – 19:05 CET
Regarding the current state of Norrkoping, it is certainly much better than at the beginning of the season, given that in the last five rounds have been defeated only once, while in the remaining four matches have won two times and played a draw the same number of times. So the last week, in an away game with Halmstad they have played 1-1, while before this match had won Åtvidabergs at home with 2-1. In this way, the coach Andersson players come closer to the top of the table, as now lag for five points behind third Elfsborg, which can certainly be reached in the rest of the season, especially if they improve the defence a bit. On the other hand, their attack has always been a strong point in recent years so in this match with AIK a very open game could be expected, where quality of the experienced striker Thorvaldsson could come into play. As for the rest of the team, there should be no changes compared to the previous two matches, especially as still out of action are injured midfielder Frempong and striker Khalil.
Probable lineups IFK Norkkoping: Nilsson – Falk-Olander, Skjonsberg, Wiklander, Floren – Smedberg-Dalence, Johansson, Gerson, Telo – Thorvaldsson, Lawan
Just like Norrkoping, AIK won eight points in the last five rounds, while being defeated only once at an away game with Kalmar. However, in the last round they made a big error at home when they played only 1-1 with the last Djurgarden, which largely spoiled the mood after previous away victory over Osters. Of course, all of these oscillations in the AIK’s game worry very much coach Alma, who was certainly expecting a lot more points at this part of the season, all with the aim to come back to the top of the Swedish football. According to the budget, this team deserves it but it is obvious that they are somewhat weaker in defence and that weakness had cost them in previous matches so it is not surprising they cannot wait that reliable stopper Backman recovers. Until then, the rest of the team will have to compensate the poor game in the defence with a stronger emphasis on the attack, so for this match it is expected to start with four strikers, of whom Borges and Bahoui will nevertheless play a little bit withdrawn toward the midfield.
Probable lineups AIK Stockholm: Stamatopoulos – Lorentzson, Majstorovic, Karlsson, Johansson – Kayongo-Mutumba, Danielsson, Borges, Bahoui – Igboananike, Goitom
IFK Norrkoping v AIK Stockholm Pick
As this is a match of two very offensively-oriented teams, it is probably the best to bet on higher number of goals, especially as both teams play very variably lately and certainly with a little luck both can win all three points at the end.
Tip: Over 2.5
