Ramage, Garvan sign new Palace deals

Crystal Palace have announced that Peter Ramage and Owen Garvan have signed contract extensions at Selhurst Park.
The pair helped Palace gain promotion to the Premier League via the 2012-13 Championship play-offs, and have both penned deals which run until June 2015.

Ramage made 43 appearances at the heart of defence over the course of his first season with the London club, scoring four goals.

And midfielder Garvan, who has been with Palace for six years, was called on 32 times by Ian Holloway, also contributing four goals to the cause.

While Ramage and Garvan are now certain to be around when top-flight football returns to Selhurst Park, it remains to be seen whether Wilfried Zaha will.

The 20-year-old was loaned back to Palace for the remainder of the 2012-13 campaign after agreeing a move to Manchester United in January.

Co-chairman Martin Long suggested on Tuesday that another seasong-long temporary deal could be in the offing, but his partner Steve Parish is less confident in that outcome.

"Wilfried deserves his chance to go to Manchester United with a view to making it there," Parish told BBC Radio 4.

"I think he is good enough and will figure in their first team. We are certainly not thinking about loaning him back.

"We will be planning for life without him. If he does get loaned out to another Premier League club then obviously we would want to be in the mix."
