Jol, Lambert content with draw

Fulham manager Martin Jol was a happy man after his side's 1-1 draw at Aston Villa on Saturday.
Charles N'Zogbia put Villa ahead 10 minutes into the second half, but Fulham secured a share of the spoils after a Fabian Delph own goal 10 minutes later.

Jol conceded Villa had been the better side, and was therefore delighted to escape with a point from the match that sees his side reach the 40-point mark.

"I'm pleased because I thought they looked the better team," the Dutchman told Sky Sports.

"We were hot and cold today. We had good possession and then we were sloppy again, so we made them stronger.

"If you look at them over the last three to four weeks they have had three wins and one defeat, so I think they did ever so well.

"To be at 40 points as well makes me a happy customer."

Villa manager Paul Lambert, meanwhile, was also happy to see his side emerge with a point, although they are still sitting just three points clear of the drop zone.

"We played really well," Lambert said. "I have got nothing but praise for the performance.

"We played really well and got a draw. That point could be massive.

"We're pulling teams right into it. I'm not too disappointed at all with the performance.

"A few games ago there weren't as many teams in it as there are now. There is a right cluster there."
