Euroleague: Unicaja - CSKA Moscow

basketball euroleague
Preview & Betting Tip

Unicaja - CSKA Moscow After the victory in Madrid in the previous round, Unicaja still has hope to qualify in the Euroleague Quarterfinal round. CSKA is in a series of three victories, but in the Regular season was defeated at home from Unicaja with even 13 points difference. All that can affect both teams, but for them priority will be the victory, and not the score difference. Begins: 21.03.2013 – 20:45 CET

Unicaja
Unicaja has surprised many and won Real Madrid in the previous round. The team’s effect is 6 wins and 5 losses, which puts them in the top half of the table (currently are the fifth). Additionally, with an eventual victory in this match they would have only one win less than the CSKA. With the victory in the first match they interrupted the great series of CSKA, which totalled nine wins, and also announced a minor crisis in the ranks of the Moscow team (after that defeat they suffered two more in the next three matches). Unicaja scores about 5 points less than CSKA on average but they are better in rebounds, especially offensive ones. They assist less than CSKA, but they also lose fewer balls, which can be extremely important in matches like this one. When we talk about shooting, they are a lot worse than the Russians, especially for the two points. As a team are weaker than CSKA, at least when it comes to the performance index (76.4 vs. 93.5), which shows how much the players are useful at all positions. Unicaja will rely again on Marcus Williams, who has sunk the CSKA in first match when he solo scored 28 points! There are also tall Panko, Vazquez and Zoric (MVP of the last rounds), while the attack depends from Vidal, Dragic and Simon. There are also plenty of other players that the coach Repesa wants to play more defence, which will be very much needed against the strong CSKA

Probable lineups Unicaja: Simon, Calloway, Urtasun, Zoric, Vazquez

CSKA Moscow
CSKA has disappointed their fans with a defeat at home from Unicaja. That certainly raises a revolt within themselves and now they want revenge, and the best one is a solid victory. Exactly the win against Unicaja, with any score difference, would secure the placement in the Quarterfinal round for the CSKA, but not only for them, but also for Real and Efes, so they will with one ear listen ??results from Spain. Many basketball fans believe that CSKA has perhaps the most complete team in the whole league that covers all positions so well that is very difficult to find a weak spot. Yet, despite of all this in this phase has recorded three defeats and now occupy the third place in their group. As we have already pointed out they are much better shooters than Unicaja. Two point shot is 55.2 per cent, and three point 41.1 per cent, which is much better compared to Unicaja shooting (for two 48% and for three 35%). Teodosic, Jackson and veteran Papaloukas fill the outer line, while there are also Weems and Micov who know very well to play both outside and inside positions. At the centre position Krstic and Kaun rotate in the course of 40 minutes and their primary goal is a strong defence, but they also score around 15 points each.

Probable lineups CSKA Moskva: Teodosic, Jackson, Weems, Khryapa, Kaun

Unicaja – CSKA Moscow

In addition to the above mentioned, if CSKA win that would be their 200th victory in the Euroleague, and it would become the first team which achieved that. In general, they are a better team and we are confident they want to win more in this rematch with Unicaja.
