Premier League: Manchester United - Reading
Manchester United top the Premier League by 12 points and look certain to win back the title this year. They have no more European matches to concentrate on which gives their league form a boost but with an FA Cup replay at Chelsea still ahead they will have plenty for their fans to look forward to. They are undefeated in 16 league matches, winning 14 of them and have been the stand-out team in England this year.
Reading are in a huge fight for survival at the bottom of the table and are now even on points with bottom placed QPR and could well go bottom after this game. They have lost 4 straight league matches and need to get back to winning ways soon but that will be almost impossible in this match. They parted company with manager Brian McDermott in a last throw of the dice to motivate the players to survival.
With a full week off since their last game I expect Manchester United to play a strong side, although they may rotate players as is their normal policy. Any side they put out will be more than strong enough to beat this Reading side. Phil Jones is expected to be fit again but Fletcher, Scholes and Nani will miss out.
Reading will be missing Federici, Roberts and McCarthy but will hope to have Kebe fit enough to return. Pavel Pogrebnyak is still suspended.
